It’s December 1st and what better reason could there be to be jolly than the launching of the Dual Frequency 2022 EDI calendar!? Make sure you don’t miss a key #Equality#DiversityandInclusion date this coming year 💜 https://t.co/NY5QjXA05P #2022 SEASON'S GREETINGS
@MissOliviaReads @benniekara @Ethical_Leader Incorporate the individuals into lessons and conversations in class. The school invested in a pride progress flag to be raised on the flag pole to make the start and end of the month too. It was really all about improving visibility, educating students & zero tolerance to phobia
@MissOliviaReads @benniekara @Ethical_Leader I’ve attached a few pictures of what we did for history month earlier in the year. But really it started with a frank conversation with leadership about addressing similar issues (catholic school). The subject posters went on every classroom door and teachers were encouraged to
@MrsJ_eduEnglish@jenhawk6248@Team_English1@Behaviour_Guy@BehaviourMentor Many of the points above are valid. But you can do all of these things and incorporate incentives to help. I have used a raffle ticket book and walked around with it during lessons, handing out tickets during questioning and written work etc. They write their name on the back
@MissLewis202@Team_English1 I also ask them to draw the range of punctuation at the top of the page as a visual prompt to use more than just a full stop and comma
@MissLewis202@Team_English1 Box off 4-5 parts of the image (assuming AQA) and write down interesting vocabulary to describe each part, minimum three words per box. More of a planning strategy but I then encourage them to write at length about each box, at least 1-2 paras using the vocab etc
Het friends with children - next time you have to fill in a form like this one maybe you could think about challenging the language choices to be more inclusive of families like mine. Then perhaps this won’t happen so often.
What a wonderful treat to come home to this today! Thanks so much for the opportunity @Ethical_Leader and @benniekara just wondering if my kids fancy an early night so I can dive in… @DiverseEd2020
@Ethical_Leader @jillberry102 @benniekara A truly wonderful process to be part of and so good to see so many people talking about it already! I’m solo parenting tomorrow but will be logging in to the launch between throwing snacks at the tiny humans
Trans people are a vital and essential part of our inclusive community and we will act to protect human rights against the injustices that trans people are currently facing at the hands of this government. 🧵
Today we mark the beginning of #LGBTHM22 and this year we have focused on representation in our school. We want to celebrate those who have made history and those who are currently making history because #RepresentationMatters
So many people have been asking when they can get the new diversity, equality and inclusion calendar. The answer is now! Go get it! https://t.co/NY5QjXA05P #ThursdayThoughts
