ALLATRA Global Research Center Hosts Workshop on Nanoplastics at ChangeNOW Summit 2026

📣PARIS,March 30, 2026 — ALLATRA Global Research Center, an independent international research think tank, invites participants of ChangeNOW Summit 2026 to the expert workshop “Nanoplastics: Invisible Threat and Global Risk”, taking place on April 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM in the Crystal Bubble, Grand Palais in Paris.

📶 Nanoplastics are already present in our oceans, atmosphere, drinking water, food, and inside the human body. It is a reality that most people cannot yet perceive, because it is invisible to the naked eye. Micro- and nanoplastics cannot be considered simply as analogues of natural aerosol particles. The combination of their physical and chemical properties—high stability, surface activity, the ability to carry pollutants, and the presence of chemical additives—creates a qualitatively new type of interaction with biological systems. Their unique properties allow these particles to attract toxins, penetrate biological barriers, and disrupt processes at the cellular level.

The ALLATRA GRC workshop will go beyond a general overview of plastic pollution to the properties that make nanoplastics fundamentally different from any waste humanity has encountered before. Could our existing technologies and solutions handle plastic at the nanoscale, and in which areas can steps be taken to create opportunities for change?

ALLATRA GRC arrives in Paris with concrete research outcomes:
▪️an internationally awarded documentary film “Nanoplastics. A Threat to Life”, produced in collaboration with scientists from leading international institutions, including the University of Plymouth and the Medical University of Vienna;
▪️an open-access research report “Nanoplastics in the Biosphere: From Molecular Impact to Planetary Crisis”;
▪️and a presentation delivered at the European Parliament in February 2026.

This work is supported by a volunteer scientific network spanning more than 40 countries.

ChangeNOW Summit is where people who look for solutions come together. The April 1st workshop is an opportunity to be part of a conversation that is only just beginning at the global level.
