Alhaji Usman Shanono's son and his ex-wife plotted to kill him in Dantsinke Quarters, Kano. They hired an assassin and paid him ₦500K. However, the assassin informed Alhaji Shanono of their evil plan.

The assassin and Alhaji Shanono faked the latter's death. He brought his wristwatch and other personal belongings to convince his employers that the job had been well executed. They soon announced Alhaji's death and gathered mourners.

To everyone's sheer surprise, Alhaji Shanono appeared alongside security operatives. The son and his mother were arrested, charged, and now face a court trial.
