@heyprofbow That’s because people who don’t work with young people are too busy stereotyping this generation as lazy, entitled, stupid, and self-obsessed to pay any real attention to them.
@christinaemoss I fell off a horse when I was 8, broke my collarbone. I rode horses and played basketball for 3 wks before getting an X-ray bc I thought falling off a horse was supposed to hurt that badly. Was worried if I whined Dad wouldn’t let me ride again! My collarbone is still crooked.
@christinaemoss I was grounded from reading. Multiple times. I got grounded longer when I told my teacher my mom had grounded me from books in an attempt to shame my mom into ending the punishment early.
One thing that hasn’t changed—spell check is a false friend to students and faculty alike. Today I got a grant app requesting “transpiration funds.” Said professor is not a plant; s/he just wants a rental car.
I guess it’s time to update my profile—I’ve crossed over to the dark side. I work in admin now—specifically sponsored research. It has been a weird transition.
