We need the biggest listen. We're gonna listen bigly. It's gonna be the greatest listen. They never saw such a listen, everyone said the same thing, such a big listen
I've been rather quiet on here for a while... and I can finally reveal why!
Why pre-order?
- scene by scene analysis and lessons activities
- focus on oracy, including guidance for reading scenes in class
- guidance for using film clips in lessons to enhance analysis
***1% BETTER***
Improving attendance is a key focus for all schools right now.
For students in the 90–95% attendance range, we’ve launched our “1% Better” strategy. Each identified student receives a card and is paired with a key adult in the school.
Students get their card signed for every consecutive day they attend, and after 12 days they earn a prize 😊

***TEACHING AND LEARNING***
Thread 🧵
To improve the use of teaching and learning techniques in the classroom we need to define them “this is how we do it here” and make it common practice across the school.
When implementing T&L techniques their success relies on this clarity and creating opportunities for teachers to deliberately practice.
What have we done @LHS_HighSchool?

This: “…advocates of cognitive load theory do not think it is ‘a good idea to reduce cognitive load’. It’s about optimising load and that can mean increasing it.”
🧬 THE SCIENCE OF SIMPLICITY! This one-page guide shows how to apply Cognitive Load Theory to instructional design to create clear and effective learning materials… Cut the clutter, keep info visible, and keep it all together.

I want to tell you something cool about our school:
For a number of years, @totteridgeacad was struggling, and we were heavily undersubscribed. Alongside that, despite low numbers overall, we had a large % of pupil premium (over 50% in some year groups).
