A collaboration of businesses and residents helping Bardstown Road in the Highlands reach its full potential as a vibrant place to live, work and visit.
Bardstown Road and the Highlands have seen many changes, met with both enthusiasm and concern from the community. Joining the @LouisvilleForum’s discussion on the topic is Councilman Ben Reno-Weber of the Louisville Metro Council, Ben Botkins of @FriendsBtownRd and @LMPD's Major Mason Brown.
The panelists at the @LouisvilleForum meeting discussed the changes and challenges facing Bardstown Road and the Highlands of Louisville. Check out their responses when asked how they would redesign the corridor.

😢This beautiful two story grocery store was replaced with a parking lot on Bardstown Road.
Whenever we have the chance, new buildings should follow the historic development pattern and be brought up to the sidewalk.
@SenatorJimmy As Chair of Transportation Committee for KY Senate, really want to emphasize the need to channel our transportation funding to making roads safer.
Deaths from traffic crashes are an epidemic in this city.
We must make our streets safer in Louisville. That requires us to change the design of streets to slow car travel speeds.
We need faster change.
I pretty often drive through this part of Broadway.
A few days ago, I stopped for two people who had turned on the flashing crosswalk. But there were around 6-7 drivers ahead of me who didn't stop for the flashing lights. It's very challenging to cross even with the crosswalk.
We love Cyclouvia!
It's this Sunday October 20th from 2-6. It'll run on Bardstown Road from Grinstead Drive to Douglass Loop.
Come out with friends and family. It's always a great time.
Thanks for tagging us.
We urgently want to see Norris/Douglass become safer for everyone - and especially walkers and bikers.
Many people coming to and leaving from Bardstown Road use this road.
working outside and i hear another wreck at the same intersection, luckily both people are okay. our neighbor has been begging for a 4-way stop here for 15 years. is it going to take a kid getting killed to do something here? @DeerParkLou@FriendsBtownRd@LouisvilleMayor
Congrats to the team at The Grales for buying this property on our beloved Bardstown Road/Baxter Avenue. Excited to see what you build here. @gralehaus

It’s fixed! The crosswalk sign and button to initiate a flashing light have been broken for months - but now it’s looking brand new! Thanks to @KYTCDistrict5 for fixing this at the corner of Bardstown Road and Edenside.
