Thanks to the safe system of street closures in our area, 72% of children at Erskineville Public School walk or ride to school. All that is under threat with the opening of Macdonald St to Mitchell Rd. Sign the petition to keep our local streets safe:

Many footpaths are very narrow in Erskineville and they shouldn't be made any narrower. FoE is advocating for many of our local streets to become 10kmh shared zones. Thanks to Dr Chris Standen for highlighting this important issue.

In 2007, the NSW Labor state government promised to build a pedestrian/cycle bridge across the tracks at Eveleigh within 2 years. Now, 14 years later, they are saying that the project is not feasible!

Meanwhile at Erskineville Station, the new southern entrance has not been completed in accordance with plans given to the community, failing to put in seating, bike racks and a proper width. Sign our petition calling on state government to finish the job:

A botched 2022 accessibility "upgrade" at St Peters station removed ramp access at the Goodsell St entrance. Now after a community outcry and petition, a section of ramp has been re-instated. A victory for common sense.
Looking forward to the Ashmore to Green Square connector. It's a route dedicated to public and active transport. Scheduled to open by the end of this year.
Next month is a good time to organise a garage sale, with the Garage Sale Train happening over 2 weekends, on 9–10 and 16–17 November. It’s free to register.

@walkerwashere Agreed. Street lighting is usually focussed on making the street bright for cars, so tends to be very high, bright and spread out. We're just talking about pedestrian lighting, which is kind of the opposite. Unfortunately state govt hasn't heard of pedestrians.
TfNSW are sending out these form letters in response to our campaign for pedestrian lighting on the Erskineville Rd rail bridge. It's good to see they investigating. Let's see if we get a solution before the end of the decade.

The WestConnex St Peters interchange sits on the site of a former tip. Community Environmental Monitoring have found that the outcomes of the pollution monitoring have produced data that is physically and chemically impossible to achieve.
