I was born and raised in China under CCP control. My childhood was marked by profound misery, plunging into the deepest abyss when my mother, at just 36 years old, passed away after enduring years of political persecution. Her suffering was a direct result of the CCP’s intolerance for dissent and its relentless targeting of those who failed to conform. The trauma of her loss, coupled with the horror and fear I felt after witnessing the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre, left an indelible mark on my worldview. In 1996, I escaped to the United States seeking freedom and a better life. Since then, I have worked hard, raised my children, and grown to love this country for the opportunities and liberties it offers.

My quiet life in the U.S. was disrupted by events surrounding Mr. Guo’s interview with Voice of America, which was abruptly cut short and removed from broadcast on April 19, 2017. This was followed by a series of targeted incidents that directly exemplify CCP interference: his scheduled speech at the Hudson Institute was canceled without clear explanation; the law firm representing him suffered a sophisticated cyberattack, resulting in their network and computer systems being hacked and subsequently blackmailed—clear evidence of CCP tactics to intimidate legal advocates and disrupt the pursuit of justice. Furthermore, Mr. Guo’s social media accounts were systematically suppressed: his Facebook account was deleted, his Twitter account was blocked, and his YouTube channel was banned from broadcasting. These actions were not isolated; they collectively demonstrate the CCP’s persistent strategies to control narratives and silence dissent, even beyond China’s borders. Such media suppression, hacking, and intimidation are hallmark examples of CCP efforts to manipulate public opinion and restrict access to the truth.

Having lived overseas for many years, I had settled into a peaceful life in the United States, enjoying freedom from political oppression and the privilege of visiting friends in China while calling America home. However, witnessing the hardships and targeted suppression Mr. Guo endured made me realize that the CCP’s oppressive reach persists, regardless of technological progress or improvements in living standards. I once believed that physically leaving China was enough to escape its tyranny, but these events have made it clear that the CCP’s influence can extend even into the “land of the free, the home of the brave.”

For me, investing in GTV is far more than a financial decision—it is a conscious stand for freedom of speech and the right to share the truth. GTV serves as a vital platform for voices like Mr. Guo’s, enabling people worldwide to learn about the CCP’s actions and ambitions, both past and present. Without Mr. Guo’s persistent advocacy, much of this critical information would have remained concealed. Supporting GTV is a demonstration of my commitment to transparency and justice, and my belief that open dialogue is crucial for exposing authoritarian regimes.

Mr. Guo has become the number one target of the CCP by exposing its plans to undermine America and its ambition to impose communist tyranny globally. I fully understand the risks associated with investing in GTV and have chosen to join his fight against the CCP, knowing firsthand how powerful, resourceful, and determined the CCP can be. Yet, my sense of obligation to preserve America as a beacon of freedom, ruled by law and justice, outweighs any personal risk. Investment in GTV is not simply an ordinary financial venture; it is a mindset and a commitment to a cause. Over the past eight years, I have participated in the Whistleblower movement and supported Mr. Guo’s mission, all while providing for my family, ensuring my two children completed their college education, and maintaining our home. This balance between family responsibility and activism is shaped by my experiences growing up under the CCP, the loss of my mother, and my desire to protect my children from similar suffering.

If fleeing China thirty years ago was a pursuit of personal freedom and happiness, joining the Whistleblower movement since 2017 is a commitment to safeguarding my children from living under the fear and tyranny that defined my own childhood. My family’s experiences have strengthened my resolve to stand for justice, truth, and liberty.

Despite Mr. Guo’s spending over one thousand days in MDC, he maintains faith in the U.S. legal system and believes that the truth will ultimately prevail. I share this faith and believe that his name will one day be cleared, and the sacrifices he has made in his journey to confront the CCP will be recognized as having been well spent. My ongoing commitment is to support these efforts, uphold the principles of freedom and justice, and ensure that my children—and future generations—live without fear of political persecution.
