Well guess we seeing the results of a safened herbicide on “weedy rice” in south LA now. Just like I said this will greatly reduce the longevity of this much needed technology. Terrible!
@JR_Meier@Connorwebster_ Barnyard??? You put a safened herbicide in some of the severely infested “weedy rice” fields that are out there and you will not get the same control as an unsafened formulation. That will severely compromise the longevity of this much needed technology.
St. Isidore who, even though he worked all day,
-went to Mass every morning
-stopped at noon everyday to pray the Angelus.
-his wife always cooked extra because he usually brought a poor person to eat.
“I don’t have time” can’t be my excuse anymore.

@JR_Meier@Connorwebster_ Not a stand alone herbicide?? There is no other herbicide to control “weedy rice”. In south LA we are not relying on grass control from The provisia technology, that part is just what we call lagniappe. We need the technology for “weedy rice” control.
One of the biggest influences in my life! I would put him just below my dad, I learned so much from Jacko. Great man and mentor. No one has the passion for growing rice like him!

Herbicide coated urea trials going out in Crowley, LA. We have an experimental herbicide in a couple of trials and several labeled products applied, Loyant, Novixid, Gambit, and Permit. As my final days at LSU tick off, proud of the program WE built the past 24 yrs
Taking control of weeds is the first priority on a rice growing operation. Hear @LSUAgCenter professor and weed scientist Eric Webster discuss the power of residual herbicides and expectations of new herbicide technologies coming to market.

Dr. Famoso & the Breeding Project planted the 1st rice of the season at the Rice Research Station. This was the 1st of many for his Date of Planting Trial. The data will be used to evaluate the yield potential of multiple cultivars when planted throughout the season @LSUAgCenter
