I made the decision to have one full work day and take the rest as holiday. Spending time with my children has been the best thing I could have done. No idea what next half term will bring.

Nearly at the end of my first half term as acting head. I miss teaching more than I’d ever admit but I feel as though I’m doing ok.

Utterly frazzled: SBM off with gall stones; dog has made the decision to call its ancestors every day at 4:15am; deputy off with COVID and I’ve got mutant amongst my TAs. Never a dull day but I’m surviving. It’s it the summer holidays yet?

UPDATE: my headteacher has resigned with immediate effect. It means, as of now, I’m acting head. Talk about jumping in at the deep end.
