No we don’t…we need to get the federal gov out of student loans and let the free market solve this pretend crisis. Private lenders should decide if they want to invest 250k in an interpretive dance degree.
@oelma__ Parents need to take a stand, stop being such wimps. They need to tell their daughters that they can do whatever they want but they need to know the consequences. I told my daughter the consequences would be she would be ostracized from the family forever, disowned/disinherited
@maiiunreveled I found out how important that is after blacks moved in directly behind me. I've had bad neighbors before but nothing to compare to the noise and chaos at all hours of the day and night.
@RepLuna The problem is much larger than simply interest rates. Colleges and universities are grossly overprice given the benefits to many graduates. First order of business: Remove the gvt from the equation. 2d order of business: educate the public (especially parents) on cost/benefits.
@oelma__ The decision would have to be based on infirmity, not age. I'm over 80 years ago and perfectly able and willing to stand on a bus and to give up my seat to anyone who appears to need it more than I.
@The_FJC None generally. I can only remember one time my dad gave me $5 when I asked for some money to go out with friends. From the age of 11 I pretty much earned my own money and even contributed to the household on occasion.
