Proposal to the SEC purist who think an expanded playoff would devalue the regular season:
16 teams
P4 confrences: 2 autobids each
G6 confrences: 1 autobid each
2 at large bids.
Nobody feels snubbed, and every regular season game still matters.
So I know the kid is like 14, and he's probably gonna be really good, but why does it replay his throw 10 times like it was something crazy?
The ball was clearly under thrown and the receiver had to dive to catch it.
What a weekend in Provo, Utah βΌοΈ
@CollegeGameDay reached 3M viewers from @BYU, making it the most-watched episode this season & the 3rd most-watched regular season episode EVER π
Question for other BYU fans:
IF we end up losing to Utah, do we hope that we don't even make the Big 12 championship?
If that's are only loss, we still make the CFP. But a second loss in the championship, could push us out.
BUT winning the Big12 championship would be amazing.
Lane Kiffin continues to make a strong case against the SEC's move to nine conference games.
More losses, more beat-up teams and less roster depth in the transfer portal era.
His biggest point? SEC teams are being punished in the rankings for playing tougher schedules.
Hard to argue with him on this one.
@BRBcreative@SportyMcSports Was it a dumb play? Yes.
If it had worked, would the crowd have lost their minds, and wed be posting the replay the rest of the year? Also yes.
"We've told them not to gamble.
Now we test their resolve.
Make BYU a 6.5-point favorite.
No, not 16.5. 6.5.
Of course it's ridiculous. That's the point.
Done? Excellent.
Now we see how strong their convictions really are."
Well deserved. The OLine never gets as much love as they deserve. And BYUs OLine deserves just as much love as anybody this week.
Against one of the best defenses in the country, Bear never had to panick, and was given the time he needed make those big plays.
@PrimarilyACoug Same thoughs. After our muffed punt against Iowa St. I said "If we do that next week, we have no shot".
Turns out we muffed a point and still one. This team is the real deal, and doesn't need a perfect game to beat the best teams in college football.
@kha1926 Appreciate the detailed response. Hopefully they can figure something out. All my in laws live in Utah, and I've heard lots of students can't get into the games with their ROC pass, and getting season tickets has become difficult.
Would be great to make games more accessible.
So this might be a dumb question, but is there be a solid case for expanding seating at Levell Edwards Stadium, and what are the chances it actually happens in the next 5-10 years?
@flatland_sports At least Urban Meyer is owning up to it. A lot of them are still parroting the talking points about how it's killing college football.
@FiredUpCoug@RGIII I don't care what anyone thinks, RGIII is my favorite football commentator by far. Normaly I don't care who's calling the games, but when hes covering us I get hyped because I know he's about to spit bars.
@EricCMeadows I've started just muting anyone I see who has a "mormons are all going to hell" post, and my timeline has gotten pretty chill.
Maybe some good can come from trying to make peace with those people, but I don't have the patience for it.
Pat McAfee just shared on his show the full story behind the viral moment of reading the Book of Mormon live on College GameDay.
Turns out a BYU student tossed a Book of Mormon onto the stage, and Pat proceeded to pick it up and read it live on air. It was completely spontaneous.
The verses he picked were completely random, prompted by the markings made by the student π
Hopefully this moment spurs more people to pick up a Book of Mormon and explore what it contains for themselves!
The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and is full of truth rooted in His gospel. Along with the Bible, it is an inspired book that has helped millions come to know Jesus Christ.
@PatMcAfeeShow Thank you for giving us that great moment and we invite you to continue reading God's words that have changed our lives!
