@Rage_of_the_Age Most people playing the downside are expecting a huge bounce into midterms too. If we see downside here the bottom/bounce might not be what people think
Sec. Scott Bessent: “How are we going to be at war with Canada? What, are they going to take their two submarines from the Edmonton Mall and sic them on us?”
🤣 same bank that was saying like 3 months ago that the amount of capital needed to carry this shitshow on past 2027 is literally not in existence.
This isn’t a market, it’s a fraudulent platform for our failing government to peddle their narratives
🦔Goldman Sachs says AI capex spending won't peak until the first half of 2028. Alphabet raised full-year capex guidance to $195 to $205 billion and said 2027 will be "significantly" higher. SpaceX spent $18.4 billion in Q2 alone, triple what analysts expected, and JPMorgan warned SpaceX could spend $200 billion a year on AI for the next two years. Tesla tripled its historical capex to $25 billion. Memory prices are rising, chip prices are rising, and companies are buying empty data center shells years ahead of when they'll need them just to hold the land.
My Take
Goldman is telling investors to buckle in for two more years of this. The same bank underwriting Anthropic's $2 trillion IPO and advising on these deals is saying the spending won't slow down, which means the bond issuance won't slow down, the RAM shortage won't ease, electricity costs keep climbing, and every downstream effect keeps compounding. Two more years of companies spending faster than they earn, borrowing to cover the difference, and telling investors the returns are coming.
Companies are buying empty shells on land they won't use for three or four years because they're afraid of being left behind. SpaceX spent three times what analysts expected in a single quarter and JPMorgan thinks it doubles from there. Where does the revenue come from to justify all of this? Goldman's answer is basically "worry about that in 2028." That's a long time to spend hundreds of billions a year on a bet, and the companies footing the bill are either losing money or burning every dollar of operating cash to keep up.

Given the SPR’s actual design specs and subsurface setup, the whole idea of refilling it with Venezuelan extra-heavy crude is a complete non-starter. The quality mismatch alone kills it on day one.
The SPR acceptance limits are spelled out black and white in DOE regs and CRS filings: "For the purposes of the SPR, sweet crude oils are defined as containing a maximum of 0.50 mass percent total sulfur, while sour crude oils can contain up to a maximum of 1.99 mass percent total sulfur. For the most part, these are of light gravity (30 to 40° API)..."
https://t.co/KOHj48wzqG
https://t.co/q2yfKZGnLy
So SPR sour intake is capped at 1.99% sulfur, requiring a 30–36° API window(medium Sour).
Meanwhile core Venezuelan grades like Merey(16° API, 3.4% S) and Boscan(10.5° API, 4.8% S) are extra-heavy sours that completely blow past those thresholds.
Beyond basic assay specs, the real structural bottleneck is subsurface storage. The SPR isn’t parked in above-ground steel tanks; it sits in Gulf Coast salt caverns across TX and LA.
The SPR has to dump 1mb/d+ on command via high-pressure brine displacement—injecting water/brine to float crude to the surface on density differentials.
Venezuelan heavy sour at ambient temperature flows like cold molasses or peanut butter. Cavern geothermal gradients aren't nearly hot enough to drop the viscosity. Pump that stuff downhole, and you risk seizing the entire cavern during a critical drawdown.
Worse, the heavy asphaltene dropout over long-term storage would drop a massive layer of bottom sludge. Mix that with displacement brine, and you get nasty downhole emulsion, risking cavern integrity and permanently wrecking the wellbores.
Look, everyone knows Venezuelan barrels are prime, high margin feedstock for complex USGC cokers, and it makes for great political rhetoric for Trump.
But refinery complexity is not drawdown logistics. Without dropping billions on cavern heating infrastructure or totally redesigning the manifold systems, dumping Venezuelan extra-heavy into SPR caverns is physically impossible.

Today reminded me that we are 1 week closer to seeing PAT MCAFEE standing on a chair with his shirt off😂🙏🙌😂😂 1 week closer to seeing Kirk and his dog PETER😂🐶 (I LOVE that little pup❤️) goodness I can’t wait for College Gameday’s intro rewritten by Jelly Roll🙏😂🎶🔥
just keep getting up man. there will be long, heavy seasons where it feels like the whole sky is falling straight onto your shoulders and every single move you make ends in a total wreck. it will drag you into the dirt until your mouth tastes like dust and defeat. stand back up anyway. brush the mud off your knees, stare right back into the teeth of the chaos, and trust that life eventually rewards the person who outlasts the dark.
One of the greatest cheat codes in life is to never get offended. Train yourself to have thick skin. Don't take things personally. Let others disagree with you. Being easily offended means you're easily manipulated. If you value peace of mind, avoid getting offended.
Worst thing u can ever do is become a salty, cautious man
No matter how many times u lose, get rejected, try and get humiliated
You cannot allow yourself to turn into those losers that warn you of everything since they tried and lost and quit
You cant quit and start to hate and spread your failure stories to the guys still playing
You must not allow that sore loser to be born
You must remain a player
Only then can you become a winner
Here is the price I paid to learn the market. I was trading with like $500 at a time, just porting it into S&P options fading price action. Through that I learned price action and how to read it, and around where I circled is when I realized it. I felt confident around that point that if I ever got the chance to trade real money I would know what to do and I’ve been right on that so far.
I never viewed people posting their returns this way and it’s ultimately what kept me from giving up on trading throughout the last 6 years. I post my wins to do the same and am transparent about my losses as well.
I am a completely self taught trader who does it on the side while working a full time job. It is difficult, stressful, and time consuming. But I was paycheck to paycheck (sometimes less) from the time i graduated college 6 years ago up until basically 5 months ago, when i rolled my 401 account worth $28k into an IRA after years of trading the few hundred bucks to my name. If I lost that money I was staying in on the weekend, eating 2 McDoubles for dinner, etc.
Trading changed my life and I feel that not nearly enough people my age are taking advantage of the market. If I can inspire one person to get into stocks, and if I can guide them to making some money, then my account is serving its purpose. Could give 2 shits if majority of others view it as projection or low self esteem.
When you show off wealth there's only 2 outcomes:
1. They get jealous.
2. They are wealthier than you and now you revealed yourself as nouveau riche.
Either way you lose.
Don't show off.
