This paper is finally out in @JEvBio! Here we show that in the polymorphic tortoise beetle that I love so much, mating for color pattern is random despite larvae from disassortative pairings being TWICE as likely to survive to adulthood than offspring from assortative pairings

@KristenNolting @annetteNZevans I totally agree that it's Rubiaceae, but that's all I can give ya too. That family is huge. But- those stipules are also really large and lovely and should help with the ID for any #rubiaceae experts out there. I'll ask some friends too.
