The lineup that day doesn’t look like much, but they’d probably mercy-rule the current team.

The good old days, when we at least knew they sucked and expectations were low.

Hoping for an early evening palate cleanser after a tough Tigers radio listen today, I turn on a close game/Skenes start.

Pirates D immediately shits the bed, blow a lead and knock Skenes out. Cubs D then ~almost~ tops that next half inning.

Still get to see all the highs, lows, and never-before-seen moments that make baseball so great in those ones too.

I don’t know how many games it took for me, but I got my first two game balls on the same day, as players were heading back into dugout after BP. One from Cecil, and one from Ellis Burks. Still have them in cases!
