Established in 1866, the Lifeboat Fund is an official charity of the Civil Service. It also receives valuable support from employees of the Royal Mail and BT.
Happy Birthday to the D class! 🎂
Did you know that the D class lifeboat is 60 years old? The first service of our inshore lifeboats was our D class @aberlifeboat. Six decades later they're still saving lives.

Not all #RNLI rescue facilities are on the coast. @TowerRNLI#London#RiverThames is the RNLI's busiest UK station. On call 24/7, 365 days a yr. On 23 June it's newly refurbished home (pontoon & crew facilities) were opened by HRH Duke of Kent #DrownngPrevention@LondonPortAuth
Welcome to your new home @WHITBYRNLI Lois-Ivan. 👋
The new lifeboat carries the donated names of thousands of people who will now watch over our volunteers. You can find your loved one here: https://t.co/4vh5QDTvt1

A lovely feature from the CSPA - Civil Service Pensioners' Alliance as our crew member Andy's dad, Mike, is now a trustee for The Lifeboat Fund charity!
If you have a few minutes, take a look at this magnificent video from @RNLI of the naming ceremony for Duke of Edinburgh (Civil Service 53). https://t.co/Roc5s78c9z
Today is the official naming ceremony of the Wells #RNLI Shannon Class lifeboat, 'Duke of Edinburgh'. The @FundLifeboat raised over £1m for the new lifeboat. The Civil Service charity is the RNLI's longest -standing contributor and its single biggest donor.
We’re in #Wells north Norfolk getting ready for a very special day tomorrow. If you’re in the area, join us at the boathouse from 4pm for sea shanties.
As we enjoy the warm weather over the next few weeks, please remember and share @RNLI advice – if you get into trouble in the water, Float To Live.
Tilt your head back with ears submerged 👂
Relax and try to control your breathing 🫁
Move your hands to help you stay afloat ✋
