Notice how it's somehow the government's job to legislate a few Bible verses on human sexuality over our entire country, but it's suddenly "not the government's job" when it comes to the +2,500 Bible verses calling for a generous use of wealth that prioritizes the poor.

The CCP gets upset when you call Mao Zedong a dictator. It does not want you to know that 60 years ago Mao launched the Cultural Revolution, one of the darkest chapters in China's history. Watch to learn what happened, and how the oppression and tyranny of that era still shapes the Chinese Communist Party today: https://t.co/KyfjcUQmHL
My last post was supposed to come after this one, but I'm glad it came first.
What exactly is a "tribe"?
For the sake of this conversation, let’s use the Yoruba as an example.
The Yoruba language does not have a one-for-one equivalent for the English word "tribe." I know some will immediately suggest "ẹ̀yà," but hold that thought — we will circle back to it.
"Tribe" is an English word. But what did it actually mean to the people who labeled us with it?
In 1877, Lewis Henry Morgan published a pseudoscientific framework that standardized the European worldview of Africa.
He mapped the evolution of human societies on a rigid scale:
Savagery → Barbarism (tribe)→ Civilization.
Savagery sat at the bottom. Civilization sat at the top, defined by writing and the "state" — the only structures Europe recognized as real government.
The middle stage was Barbarism, and the political organizational form assigned to Barbarism was the "tribe."
To Europe, being tribal meant being barbaric. It was a label reserved for societies they deemed inferior to the civilization they claimed to have mastered.
They used this word for the peoples they decimated across the globe. They called Native Americans "tribes" and exterminated them. They called Australian Aborigines "tribes" and destroyed them.
But when they came here, and called us "tribes," we celebrated it. Today, we guard this shameful colonial appellation with racist viciousness.
If we truly understood the glory of our old kingdoms, we would see how absurd it is to call them tribes.
At its imperial peak in the late 17th and 18th centuries, the Old Oyo Empire covered roughly 150,000 square kilometers — about one-sixth of modern Nigeria’s landmass. Its sophisticated administrative hierarchy and immense military might cannot honestly be dismissed as a "tribe." The same applies to the Benin Empire.
If you had walked up to their citizens and called them an "ẹ̀yà," they would have rightly asked, "Ẹ̀yà of what?"
Why did Europe name other historical powers "ancient civilizations" but reserve "tribe" for us?
More importantly, why has this become our most prized self-designation?
Let’s look at the actual meaning of "ẹ̀yà."
In Yoruba, ẹ̀yà means a fraction, a branch, or a component part. We use it in "ẹ̀yà ara" (part of the body) or "ẹ̀yà ọ̀rọ̀" (part of speech).
By definition, a part cannot exist without a whole. A fragment cannot exist in a vacuum.
So I ask you: if the Yoruba identity is an ẹ̀yà, what is the larger body we belong to?
Where is the rest of the organism that we "yà" (branched away) from?
To be continued...
Many Western nations managed to "uplift farmers and the working class" without killing upwards of 30 million of them.
We did this, generally, without empowering student mobs to trash all the history we now claim we're proud of, and without massacring the wealthy and the educated on the altar of cultural revolution.
One of the many ironies of the modern Chinese nationalist is that, were it not for generals countermanding the Red Guard, the evidence they claim for their greatness would have been totally destroyed by Mao's own faction.
We have no equivalent of Mao's campaign against the Four Olds, having largely gotten over iconoclastic religious hysteria in medieval times.
We never went around killing sparrows to avert famine (which caused a surge in locusts that made famine worse) — of all our many retarded leaders, none have been so retarded as that.
Our war heroes did not hide in mountains waiting for the Kuomintang to do all their fighting for them, only to emerge and claim credit after the fact. The Communists are not war heroes. They drove the war heroes out of the country they fought to save.
We have managed to make modern nations of citizens, not subjects; and our technological prowess today is the product of invention, not theft.
We have empowered our ethnic and religious minorities, almost to a fault, while the Chinese government locks them up in camps that we consider horrors.
As is usually the case, Communist doctrines of "colonialism" and "imperialism" - the latter a Leninist propaganda trick designed to save Marxism from all its failed predictions - are spread today to spare Communism the shame of its own deeds.
And we are able (and even encouraged) to criticise our most important leaders and heroes, while the Communist Party apparatchik must debase his own intellect before he is allowed to speak.
China does have a rich and wonderful history. Mao created none of it, and destroyed much of it. The fat ass of his legacy squats on what remains.
"Mao n'est pas un dictateur parce qu'il est aimé par les Chinois."
Mdr, alors Hitler non plus n'était pas un dictateur, vu qu'il était aimé par les Allemands.
They think chanting “West bad, China-Russia good” is how Africans will kumbaya their way to economic prosperity.
These nations are traders. You don’t alienate yourself to just China because they’ll definitely leave you when shit hits the fan. Trade with them and move on, just as you do with everyone else.
The nonsense of “West bad, China good” is why we have Chinese modern-day slave plantations masquerading as factories all over Africa, all in the name of “they’re better than the West”, as if we’re incapable of deciding what’s best for ourselves.
Like I said, China should never be the main world power. They should jejely sit there as part of the global balance of power.
