Ok. I learnt the word ‘pajeet’ today and it is not ok. The racist drivel being unleashed on India is not ok. Yes, India is unsafe for women, but tell me what part of the world is not? When I lived in New York, I was aggressively felt up in the subway, post which I remained forever watchful. When I lived in Dubai, a man followed me to a bathroom during a desert safari trip, making leery comments that still rile me up. When I lived in Switzerland, I was accosted by a group of men at midnight and ran for my life. The only reason why one woman is raped while another is not is a matter of sheer luck. Nothing else. Not your delusions of safety, smarts, laws, first world progress, or equality. The world is unsafe for women. How about addressing that vile without tarnishing only one country? Ok?
