@BPannizzo A10) #wemake19 Tonight's discussion was great. Thank you to Brittny for hosting. It was a great experience exploring everyone's interpretation of art and what it can do for our students, schools, and communities.
@BPannizzo A9) #wemake19 a "homebound Burning Man community" to mean sounds like creating a space in your community where anyone can display their artwork.
@BPannizzo A5) #wemake19 Yes I believe all forms of art have an important place in our schools. Students need to be able to express themselves in different ways and school is sometimes the only place they are exposed to it. Music, Choir, Band, Drama, all Art classes.
@BPannizzo A5)#wemake A 3D printer can create a cast with a unique design that can allow the bone to heal without being wrapped up in plaster. While sharing/making art or doing a hobby can make you feel good on the inside.
@BPannizzo A4) #wemake19 Honestly not much. Growing up I always just thought it was some hippy thing like Woodstock. Just watching a little bit of class video so far I see that there is more to it.
@BPannizzo A3) #wemake19 I feel like inviting the community to take part in school events is a great way to involve the community as well as having students complete projects in the community or about the community. For example, planning a community garden, or building a gazebo.
@BPannizzo A1) #wemake19 One of my favorite teachers was one of my history teachers. He was always so excited to teach. He would come up with fun ways for us to remember the content.
@barley_ellen A10)#wemake19 After this discussion I would like to see the 3D printer in my school be used more often than it is and for more subjects and clubs than it is. I would like to see more teachers and students trained on how to use the machine itself and the design program associated
@barley_ellen A8)#wemake19 I believe fabrication can be used to bring learners' creations to life. It could be designing a building, printing a character from your favorite book, creating a 3d shape
@JrVibbard A7)#wemake19 While it may take us a moment to think about how fabrication can be used, I believe it can be used in every subject if you just look at it from a different angle.
@JrVibbard A5)#wemake19 Our drama club could probably make pretty good use of it to design props for the shows. The D&D club could use it to create models of their characters.
@barley_ellen A4) I could find ways to fit it into my social studies curriculum but it might not be as useful as it would be for other subjects. It could be used for my content project in Week 8, with students designing their own museum exhibit. They could use it to print artifacts. #wemake19
@JrVibbard A3)#wemake19 The only time I heard about fabrication in a school setting before this class was in a sculpting class. If we wanted to we could use a laser cutter and a design program to cut sheet metal into shapes. A girl made a 3D elephant and sea horses.
@Janet_Beam@barley_ellen I never thought about using it to print busts or city replicas. It could even be used if you have students design their own fort or temple.
@barley_ellen A2) #wemake19 My school has a 3D printer but I don't see it being used very often. Besides it not being used for a specific class or project it seems to run into a lot of technical projects when it is being used. Two projects that came out successful were key chains and ornaments
