Cat-loving Aspie. Very interested in roads and electric cars. I like most European cuisines plus Japanese and Chinese. Would like to meet an extraterrestrial.
@NoContextBrits It’s quite easy to understand. When the biscuit is baked, the top has an irregular surface and is curved at the edges, so they turn it upside down and spread the chocolate on the bottom. Compare with a plain digestive biscuit and you’ll see it.
@WHATSFORDlNNER That Lurpak “butter” is really a blend of margarine & butter. All spreadable butters are. If they were pure butter, the ingredients list would just state, “Butter.” Nothing wrong with margarine & if the blend tastes good to you, that’s fine, but I wish the carton was more honest.
@recoverbritain I don’t miss any one business but I do miss having butchers & bakers in every reasonably sized village. I used to live in a village called Chobham. I moved there in 1973 & it had 3 butchers and a baker. When I left in 1999 they had all closed. Now it has a Co-op & a Tesco Express
@WHATSFORDlNNER No to the curry sauce. I don’t need the baps either. Salt and vinegar on the chips, and ketchup with the battered sausage. Possibly my favourite junk food meal.
@YesterdaysBrit1 I agree. While I expect builders and other ranks in the armed forces to have tattoos, they’re everywhere now. Ugly! Nice art? Put it on canvas! My father used to lament that my grandmother said we were moving into the Age of Aquarius, an age of ugliness. I fear they were right.
@DailyMirror The current heatwave hasn’t ended yet. Temperatures may be a little cooler than at their peak but they’re still above the heatwave threshold, 27ºC in this area. 29º instead of 33º is still a heatwave here.
@originaltreble Your post reveals that you know little about being an MP, nor much about being a teacher. Yes, they have some time off; we all do in every job. But MPs and teachers have plenty of other work to do away from their recognised workplaces.
@recoverbritain No. It was very boring. In the ‘70s Sundays were really boring. Today is much better. Roads were quieter on weekdays too because there were fewer cars. What I’d do is have Japanese-style parking rules where before you can buy a car, you must have a parking space.
