Each scientific, linguistic, archeological, or philosophical discipline has its own term for this. I created this word for the idea of studying the origin and evolution of a subject regardless of what is being studied.

I made up a new word: Archegenics – The study of the origin, emergence, and development of anything, across all fields.

Archegenics is not the study of all of these subjects combined, it is a word to encompass the idea of finding the origin, or evolution of a subject regardless of of the subject matter.

It combines everything from etymology, genealogy, mythology, and memes, etc.

The tracing of the first appearance, causal roots, and evolutionary transformation of anything—from words and tools to traditions, species, or abstract ideas. It seeks to understand not just where something comes from, but how it came to be what it is now.
