@moliathh Probably to serve the interest of the party. Similarly to China, we as a society tends to accept the trade off of some liberty and freedom for security, prosperity and stability.
@moghilemear13@RaccoonOfFiume Realistically, we did try to sway them into our favor (not by colonizing or invading). Cambodia was invaded purely because they were ravaging the countryside along the border, murdering civilians so we took the necessary actions to serve our interest.
