Goalscorer Dean Healy reflects on Wicklow's Tailteann Cup win over Down after a huge comeback in the second half in which his goal was central too.

@TheSundayGame Wicklow scored 1-17 in the 2nd half against Offaly in the semi.
Wicklow scored 1-17 in the 2nd half against Down in the final.
A very cool coincidence.
Well done to Wicklow. Third year in a row that a Division 4 team has reached the Tailteann Cup final, yet the ‘we need a third tier guff’ persists. 🙄🤷🏻♂️
@K__Lynch@BankOnthe Two of the Tailteann cup semi finalists last year were div 4 teams. At it’s not like Kildare ran away with the final. I think it’s a lazy narrative to say they’re way off winning it. Look at the progress Wexford have made for example, a year out of div 4.
@IndoSport@TheSundayGame spending more time talking about a referee letting the game flow than the 3 Leinster football games combined is a true reflection of GAA analysis. God forbid they’ll have to talk about the Joe McDonagh this week.
Quick example of misinformed radicalisation:
You want something done about fuel prices
You see protests. Go on my son
Gov refuses to talk. You cant understand why
Your algorithm says taxes are to blame. Makes perfect sense
Gov wont lower taxes. You cant understand why 1/
@DaireCarragher@PGNWTLOI1D@cormacpro I’d argue that, while they’ve improved, they’re years behind other sports’ content strategies.
The GAA accounts should be the gold standards that provincial, county, and club socials can take their lead from. There’s so much room for improvement in their broader social strategy
@DaireCarragher@PGNWTLOI1D They've improved hugely but how much action are they leaving on the table? They have access to every game and every score and just focus on the tv games.
Jesus fucking Christ, calling John Davidson's tic proof of a "racist mind, heart and soul" is absolute bullshit, and dangerous bullshit at that.
Tourette's with coprolalia (10-15% of cases) is neurological fuckery.
Disinhibited brain circuits grab the most primed, taboo-loaded phrase from context and blast it out. No filter, no choice.
Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo in the spotlight? Black men trigger racial-taboo content already lurking in his tic repertoire. Faulty basal ganglia plus dopamine chaos equals involuntary n-word shout. Zero intent, zero "soul" reveal. Just broken wiring doing broken-wiring shite by throwing words he knows but doesn't want to use.
I've witnessed it firsthand supporting a bloke with severe TS: my Greek features, name, accent became "Greek cunt," body hair "hairy bastard." Automatic, context-primed bollocks from disinhibited loops. He was trying to fight it and the suppression made worse. Zero malice. He was a good guy who had 0 anti-Greek biases.
That's exactly why plenty of Black folk with Tourette's come to John's defense. They live this nightmare daily, know these tics aren't hidden bigotry erupting, and call out the same mechanics. It's the disability, full stop.
Nobody's saying Black people should shrug off hearing the n-word. Pain lingers regardless. But slapping "subconscious racism" on every involuntary tic is ableist shite dressed up as anti-racism. It erases TS reality and stigmatises people already battling enough.
The BBC should've edited it out. However, turning a neurological event into deliberate racism or double-standard excuses is nonsense. Ableism, no matter how much you try to cover it in nice terms, still ableism.
Next week Spain play Georgia in what could be a game watched by millions around Europe in a full stadium as the winner replaces Wales in the #SixNations . But the cartel doesn't have promotion or relegation so it will be watched by a handful of people without note.
@ExmortisAbortis @Oisin_1888@jordsjailacc@TheFargoFella You’ve spent the last 6 hours replying to people on this thread. Sure you could find some time in your busy schedule.
Looking forward to how ‘Reeling in the Years’ recall this in years to come.
