@themagic_tophat People misrepresent the rule and it's link to Man United - it was based on the financial crisis at the time. With United fans staunch opposition to the debt burden unfairly lumped upon us, if anything it was to stop others from ensuring our fate.
@MattP1Tommy Kimi's on the edge driving has predominantly given him an advantage, with him about to become the youngest ever WDC ... ( Btw what race do you think he'll wrap it up, I think Mexico 👏) How far can this lad go as he inevitably learns to finesse his style? #P1
Crazy race in Sepang 😵💫 ..great drives from Max, Lewis and Fernando amongst others.
George's late PU issue almost settling the driver's title though, Kimi always finding himself there or abouts 👏 #BahrainGP#F1
⚠️🚨 City appealing on the basis the sky is green and pitch blue.
Other reasons include Man United won in 4:3 so it's different now.
And actually the money they included just happened to be down the back of the sofa.
If that doesn't work they have 112 other excuses to try also...
@themagic_tophat@LNobbins Argument is essentially we are guilty but you picked the wrong thing...
The fact the owner of City is said govt's deputy leader and vice president to *checks* ..his brother, isn't a compelling defence though.
@SkySportsNews@10DowningStreet would be wise to heed the strength of feelings by football supporter on football in general and recall the ferocity of which the proposed Super League received.
We now know City breached Prem as UEFA rules, but what's the deal with the FA Cup and League Cup @henrywinter ? There's no actual rules in place are there, so are those trophies legacies remain intact in the long run? Will history have a different view from their prism
BREAKING: Man City main sponsor Etihad says “deeply concerned” over PL announcement which has “created damaging implications for Etihad despite the airline not being named in the published decision. The PL must take responsibility for the consequences” - potential legal action
@HaytersTV@RobHarris The context of his reactions here and elsewhere look different now the verdict has been delivered, doesn't mean he knew anything, but it certainly legitimises those asking the questions
Football is different, that’s why
Using Nick Butt’s analogy, it you’re billionaire + can fund your crane company to eliminate all opposition, well done you. Bad for consumer but that’s capitalism
If you’re a billionaire football club owner and eliminate the other 19 teams by signing all the players, you have no league, no one to play + no business
Hence in a closed league, you need agreed rules on what you can and can’t spend on payroll - it’s existential
