Ah great, we are now in a boring William Gibson-style dystopia without any cool cyberpunk trappings. No corner ramen joints to hire hackers, no cool corporate espionage, no implants, and no corporate ninjas. Just giant corporations allowed to run amuck by politicians. Sigh.
I’m on the return swing from a trip to Japan with the missus. It appears that wide billowy jeans are IN, wallet chains are IN, so if @condiricenbeans is still on this platform, here’s what I say to you: generous denim is BACK, prepare for the return of JNCO jeans.
@stalinsghost2 @Project_J0EL @jamieallard_ @ADFLegal@ACLU@akgop@rep_mina At least my brain’s on and I know my rights as a US citizen. You do understand that’s why the United States’ founders added the first amendment to the US constitution, right? And again, no cogent argument, just name calling. Grow up and let me know when you have a thesis.
@Project_J0EL @jamieallard_ @ADFLegal@ACLU@akgop@rep_mina No retort? No counter argument? Jamie Allard’s the one threatening to trample over another citizens constitutional rights, not me!
Goldstream Valley is frigid but beautiful. I accidentally left the tire pressure super low, but that worked in my favor cranking through the softer parts of the trail.
@Speeding_m@alaskanrobby Sen. Kawasaki represents Senate Seat P, which covers downtown Fairbanks, East Fairbanks (my home turf!), Ft. Wainwright, and Badger Road area.
@CaseyDschaak@DermotMCole No.1 is probably the most heinous, because he used that argument to convince Samoans to not vaccinate their children against measles, and 83 people died there in a local measles epidemic. https://t.co/yXJjupaafC
@CaseyDschaak@DermotMCole I believe Dermot is referring to:
1. Autism comes from vaccines
2. Fluoride in water is dangerous
3. Ultra-processed foods caused the US’ obesity epidemic
4. COVID targets White & Black people while sparing Chinese & Jews
There are others. Here’s a start: https://t.co/VVfdkHlnWY
I don’t know if this is a result of the current political climate or me exploring new musical horizons, but I really dig Primus now. Currently jamming to the Brown Album, it’s sooo weird but soooooo good.
Played the Offspring’s “Have You Ever” this morning and realized that the first half of the song’s message is “AGH NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME!” and the second half’s theme is “Crime does pay, but I think the world can be a better place”. No wonder teen me liked it.
@courant_ak You know what? I highly doubt Cronk will win, but maybe I will.. if I'm not already busy serving the people of my Borough on the Assembly. I got awfully close this election, and I suspect it won't be so tough next Fall.
True story: I called Mike Cronk’s office several times in 2023, no response. Fellow Interior teachers went to Juneau to plead for increased funding for schools in February and the only member of the Interior Delegation who didn’t take time to see us.. was Mike Cronk.
During Mike Cronk’s tenure as a State House Representative for the Interior, he used state funds on at least TEN trips to Anchorage from Juneau for “constituent meetings.”
Last time we checked… Cronk’s constituents are in the Interior – NOT Anchorage. 🤔
@Homes907 Correction: You should know that if you're a "real" Alaskan. I live in my district and I have the right to vote, and you can complain, but joke's on you - I already did.
@Homes907 That is an un-Alaskan and un-American perspective. The 1st Amendment of the US Constitution gives us all freedom of expression without endangering the public. I have a right to vote too, and can vote as I please. You should that, if you are a "real" Alaskan.
As is, I voted for @alaskascott and if you live on the east side, so should you! He’s positive, hard working, and overall a solid person to represent this district.
I saw Mike Cronk and Savannah Fletcher at a candidates forum two weeks ago, and there was no contest - Savannah can the knowledge and experience to run circles around Cronk. No wonder he’s going negative. I only wish I could vote for her, but I live on the east side.
