This tweet contains the names of every GOP calling the Stormy Daniels case a "hoax" who also complained when Michael Cohen got 3 yrs prison in the same case:

And look - still enough room to remind you that Trump's official story is that he paid off a woman he also never had sex with.

Had McConnell retired in January 2021 & led the conviction of Donald Trump his legislative legacy would’ve been about the same & he would’ve saved the country from the anti-democratic threat he saw clearly. We would not be on the precipice we are on now if not for his
cowardice.
This @TheAtlantic article by @JohnGHendy is an exhaustive analysis of the @NoLabelsOrg fiasco. It is chocked full of contradictory comments from their leadership leading to the conclusion that this is a runaway train with at least 5 different possible motives for why they are moving away from their original purpose and into the world of becoming a political party, turning “No Labels” into a political label that is drawing the ire of both Democrats and Republicans.
Significantly, and contrary to previous comments, the No Labels founder says that their purpose is not to win the election but to give people a choice. But this nothing more than a recent and convenient excuse to avoid the #SignThePledge campaign that is underway so that they can continue to raise money. No matter which way you slice it, more choices makes the likelihood of a Trump win more likely and makes folks like No Labels nothing but a #Spoiler4Trump . The stakes this year are just too damn high to risk giving the election to Trump.
In the end this fool’s errand seems to be a combination of a large number of political consultants with no role in the ‘24 election and the easy access to big political money that exists in today’s America. Their lack of regard for the threat they are creating for our precious democracy, that is our magnificent inheritance, is a catastrophe in progress that is truly chilling.

In AL, local laws (laws that affect only one county) have to go through the state legislature and get support from 60% of legislators to pass. In the March 5th primary, you'll vote on an Amendment to change that & allow local laws to pass with a simple majority.
Looks like AL Republicans are in a twist. “Don’t worry about the law we passed” Republican legislators say. “Don’t worry about that silly ole protecting the rights of unborn children Constitutional amendment” they say. “Don’t worry, I won’t prosecute anyone who seeks IVF treatment even though I’ll prosecute doctors or anyone who helps women go out of state for an abortion” says MAGA Attorney General Steve Marshall. All of them shout “life begins at conception” until somebody explains what IVF actually does. And the same thing is happening with Republicans in DC. Gimme a damn break folks! These people have been pandering to the far right for votes for years never ever thinking about what they are doing or saying or the lives they will affect.
They may change the law - and I hope they do - but we can’t let ‘em off the hook.

Reporter: Do you have a reaction to the Alabama Supreme Court ruling?
GOP Sen. Tuberville: I was all for it... We need to have more kids
Reporter: But IVF is used to have more children and IVF services are paused at some clinics
Once again @NoLabels is showing their true colors: no delegates, no convention, no democratic process in selecting a nominee. Instead, a self-annointed “blue ribbon committee” is conducting interviews as if they have a job opening. The Presidency is much more than that folks. So here’s the question to @NoLabels: Since you refuse to reveal #WhoFundsNoLabels will you at least tell us who you gave blue ribbons to so that they can interview applicants to be President?

Trump facing a criminal trial on March 25 is significant. To understand, review the bidding.
First, before Trump was President, he hid his payments (the hush money) to avoid a criminal indictment then.
Second, he then became President, and said he couldn’t be indicted for his past crimes like the hush money while in office.
Third, he then committed more serious crimes in office (the Mueller report lists 10), and he said he couldn’t be prosecuted for his crimes as a sitting President while in office.
Fourth, he then got voted out of office, and so committed even more crimes to try to stay in office (the Jan. 6 charges, some of the most significant charges in the book), and said he couldn’t be prosecuted for them while he was still President.
Fifth, b/c he couldn't be prosecuted, Congress impeached him and he said he couldn’t be impeached because the only remedy was to prosecute him after he leaves office, not to impeach him.
Sixth, he then leaves office and he’s prosecuted (as per exactly what his lawyers said could happen to him), and he now says he can’t be prosecuted because he is absolutely immune from prosecution for acts while he was President.
Seventh, for crimes he committed when he was NOT President (like the New York ones), he is now saying he can’t be prosecuted for those either, b/c he’s he’s a candidate for President again (as his lawyer argued in court today).
And oh, eighth, he filed a brief in the US Supreme Court today saying because he was not impeached, he can't be convicted.
What is this? What Constitution on earth would permit this?
I’m told that, in response to my prior tweet, @EliseStefanik deleted her 1/6/21 statement — that those who stormed the Capitol “must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Here is Elise’s statement again. Feel free to share. #nomorecrackpots
“This is a year in which probably democracy as we understand it will either continue and improve, or it will tip over into something which is no longer recognizable.” With so many crucial elections, historian @TimothyDSnyder says 2024 is going to be a true test for democracy.

Let's never run out of new ways to mock basic empathy & smear the concept of kindness, folks.
The “tough guy” Republican Senator from OK tries to fight a witness during a Senate hearing. Meanwhile, over in the House a Republican member says the former Republican speaker “elbowed” him in the kidneys. A Republican presidential candidate calls another Republican candidate “scum” on national TV. Republican Rep Mike Rogers takes a swing at Republican Rep Matt Gretzky during speaker elections. And then there’s the antics of Greene and Boebert. This is what today’s Republican Party has become thanks to Donald Trump. Pretty sad folks. Pretty damn sad.
Alabama Republicans tried to make Black votes count roughly 1/2. Didn't even make it to 3/5ths. And the AG is out here pretending they got treated unfairly.
The final amount is in. The State of Alabama will spend $1.082 billion for a new prison, the most expensive prison ever built in the United States. $270,500 per bed.
Inflation is down and our economy is making strides. President Biden is a leader who puts action behind his words and our country is healing because of it.
You know folks, I always try to respect someone’s religion, even if they wear it on their sleeve, but there is a clear hypocrisy with a Governor who on the one hand quotes scripture but yet sanctions pilfering aid to poor folks and giving it to undeserving rich folks instead and who refuses to extend health care for poor people by expanding Medicaid. We know how @tatereeves really believes in helping the least of these. He does not. Time to #SaveMississippi and vote @BrandonPresley this November
I do not agree with Steve Marshall on many things. But credit where it is due in this case. It would have been easy to look the other way because Rs were certainly not pushing for Cole to be punished. Marshall followed the law. https://t.co/epNc0DsmS7
