As a longtime EV hater, I’m coming clean: I got a Tesla Model Y Performance a few months ago.

FSD is just too good, it’s faster than a Lambo, and it costs $40/month vs the $500 I was paying in gas. Too amazing to pass up.

Haven’t ditched the V8 F-150. Still value the 600+ miles of range and the towing. But commuting in it every day was getting ridiculous.

I can’t see myself ever going 100% EV, at least not yet.

But I always said if Tesla ever made an EV that was a better product for my daily use case, I’d buy one.

With FSD they finally have. Commute and around-town driving are amazing in this thing and it’s not even close.

We still don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy.

Agent: Todd, your plane is on a course for Washington. Best guess is the White House or the Capitol.

Todd: I understand. I’ll be back.

Todd: Everyone knows this isn’t a normal hijacking. We have decided we will not be pawns in their plot.

Lisa: What are you going to do?

Todd: Four of us are going to rush the one with the bomb. Then the cockpit. A stewardess is getting boiling water. We’ll take them out.

This is honestly so discouraging. I work really hard for pennies. Sometimes, I actually lose money doing this.

I requested this document first. I paid for this document. I obtained it and released it well before the Daily Mail published the same story and called it an “exclusive.” And now the New York Post is citing them as the source.

I went through HELL last year to bring you my reporting on the Karmelo case. I was targeted. I was swatted. I was falsely reported to CPS. A man went to PRISON for ten years after stalking me and my family because of his obsession with the case and his loyalty to Karmelo. I was pregnant through all of it.

Did the mainstream media ever cover what I went through? No. And I’m okay with that. I never expected them to.

But pretending independent journalists don’t even exist while taking the stories we worked to uncover is something entirely different.

I did the work. I made the request. I paid for the records. I obtained the document. I released it first. Then I watched a major outlet publish the same story as an “exclusive” - and when I pushed back and asked for credit, I was blocked.

Now another major outlet is pointing to them as the source.

That is what is so discouraging. It isn’t about wanting attention. It’s about basic journalistic ethics: credit the reporter who actually did the work.

After today I will no longer support or endorse Waymo specifically. This will likely result in losing followers and/or ruffling some feathers, but so be it. I don’t care. The good news is I won’t ever need a ride from them in the future, there will be so many more Teslas, including my personal car.

People say we should support all autonomy. Well, this company clearly doesn’t and is obviously threatened by Tesla, but instead of welcoming them they’re attacking them.

The reason is their personal attacks on Tesla. This is not the first time they have openly criticized them, going so far as to say their approach is unsafe and cannot work and “can’t see at night”. From CEO to top engineers “you have to be able to see at night” we’ve heard it all.

In the thread today they blatantly called Tesla a fraud, even though they are far too afraid to mention them by name.

They of course start with:

“Multimodal sensors are indispensable. By combining inputs from cameras, lidar, and radar, the Waymo Driver creates a rich, redundant world view that no single sensor can replicate.”

“No single sensor can replicate…” The first direct attack against Tesla. Funny enough, Tesla has already proven this wrong with Robotaxi operating safely. As Ashok has said many times, AI is not a sensor suite problem; it’s an AI problem.

“Simply improving a driver assistance system for full autonomy is a FALSE summit”

This directly refers to Tesla FSD supervised and how Tesla has used this 13B miles of data to create real-world AI and Robotaxi.

“You can’t build trust with a black box. AI is powerful, but it isn’t magic. Pure end-to-end architectures risk black box failures where decision-making is hard to understand.”

This again directly attacks Tesla, which uses a pure end-to-end approach. Waymo claims this “risks” failures where decisions are hard to understand. Actually quite hilarious—V14 stops for school buses, yet why is Waymo investigated by NHTSA for blowing past school buses with stop signs out? 🤔

What will they say when Tesla has 10x their fleet, 100x? I can’t wait for Tesla to prove the doubters wrong and mop the floor with them.

I still support the push for all autonomy, but I don’t support companies attacking Tesla and fear-mongering with public posts claiming it is unsafe.

Not trying to beat a dead horse.
R2 range is a problem. Especially when it’s nowhere near EPA stated. The effective useful daily range in good conditions is just 150 miles when going from 20% to 80%.

But we definitely should check in with With expert @ZacksJerryRig (the best friend the Chinese Auto ever had) who regularly states that Tesla’s way under performs their EPA range and everyone else does a better job.

So Zack, what is your conclusion here?
