James Worthy on how the showtime Lakers would do in today’s game:
“The athlete today is a superior athlete. Okay. The approach, the stamina, the way they approach the game. But still for me I mean if I got to pick a point guard to start my team, I’m going Magic every time. And he could play today. He’s got pace. He’s got size. I’m not going to say we would dominate. A lot of people say, “Oh, we you know with Kareem and Magic we No, I don’t think we would dominate, but I think we could hold our own.”

We updated our style for telephone numbers in 2024 to drop parentheses.
We now recommend the form: 212-621-1500.
For international numbers use 011 (from the United States), the country code, the city code and the telephone number: 011-44-20-7535-1515.
Use hyphens, not periods. No parentheses.
The form for toll-free numbers: 800-111-1000.
If extension numbers are needed, use a comma to separate the main number from the extension: 212-621-1500, Ext. 2.
🚨 The Pentagon summoned the Pope’s ambassador to a closed-door meeting and threatened him.
Named official. On record.
Undersecretary of Defense Elbridge Colby called Cardinal Christophe Pierre to the Pentagon and delivered this message:
“The United States has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side.”
Then a U.S. official invoked the Avignon Papacy — the 14th century moment when the French monarchy used military force to physically remove the Pope from Rome and bend the Church to its will.
The Vatican understood the reference immediately.
The Pope’s planned visit to America for the 250th anniversary celebration was cancelled.
And then something remarkable happened.
The Pope didn’t retreat. He pressed harder. He called the war unjust. He called Trump’s threats unacceptable. He told Americans to call Congress.
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
As Dusty May takes the court in Indianapolis, the court he played high school basketball on is just over an hour away. I visited the school and caught up with one of his old teammates.
(With some vintage footage of Dusty hooping with a shaved head.)
This thought just hit me hard…
Left photo, my father is somewhere there and I’m not.
Right photo - I’m there but he isn’t.

Vivek Ramaswamy doubles-down on his plan to close universities in Ohio. He specifically references University of Akron, Kent State University, and Central State University.
I wonder how the Akron & Kent State communities feel about this? The 2 schools employ 13,000+ Ohioans.
