Area under curve = distance travelled

ALWAYS take 5-10 minutes to check your work at the end of the exam. You always hear this one but there is good reason for it.
Many students are able to gain an extra few marks by checking their work - we want to try and minimise any silly mistakes!
Go over any calculations, formulae and the working out to make sure all your work is accurate.
3) Practice showing your working step by step in a clear manner for a better chance of getting higher marks.
Even though this is a calculator paper, we still want to show the steps we are taking to get to our answers and what we are inputting onto our calculator.
Remember, the actual answer to the question is usually only 1 mark sometimes 2.
Most of the marks come from your working out. So, if you find yourself not knowing the answer to a question, your working out can still get you some marks.

Tip of the day - Compound Interest ๐ฐ
Use the formula:
Final Amount = Original ร (1+rโ/100)^n
Where r = interest rate, n = years
๐ฏ This formula also works for depreciation โ just subtract the interest rate from 1 instead.

Tip of the day - Using Upper & Lower Bounds in Calculations ๐งฎ
If a question asks for the maximum or minimum possible value, use the upper/lower bounds of the values involved.
E.g.,
Max area = upper ร upper
Min area = lower ร lower
โ ๏ธ Watch out for bounds when the formula you use involves division (e.g. calculating speed) โ flip which one gives the highest/lowest answer.

Tip of the day - Recurring Decimals to Fractions ๐
Convert recurring decimals to fractions using algebra:
E.g.,
Let x = 0.727272โฆ
100x = 72.7272โฆ
x = 0.7272โฆ
Now subtract:
99x = 72 โ x = 72/99 = 8/11
