Hatsun has raised the price of its milk by Rs 6 / liter since TVK assumed control of the TN government.

Let's examine the sequence of events.

The chairman of Hatsun meets with Vijay in May. The price of Hatsun's 500 ml basic milk packet was raised from INR 35 to INR 37.

News reports that the Aavin milk packet scarcity started in June. Aavin's distribution has decreased by 25% and procurement by 15%.

Hatsun once more raises the price of a 500 ml normal milk packet from INR 37 to INR 38 once this 25% shortfall occurs. Since TVK took over, this is the second time.

A family of four buying a one-liter pack should ideally be spending INR 180 more each month and will be paying INR 2000 extra / year.
