@YaPalNaz@RealHaloFan I think Knights teleporting is one of the most overblown things ever. In my playthroughs and time in spartan ops, they really don't teleport very much especially if you're close. They mostly do it when you shoot at them from a distance. H5's Soldiers however teleport nonstop.
Video game graphical fidelity has hit a point where even a little bit of JPG compression makes it hard to read. Streaming video compression turns it into an indecipherable mess. On top of that, the motion blur/chromatic aberration/vignetting/etc just destroys what's left.
@Spainkiller The original games actually had pretty extensive lore and backstory even if it wasn't really immediately relevant in-game. I remember they got Eric Nylund, who wrote the early Halo novels, to develop the lore. The games also just had strong characters and dialogue in general.
It looks like they even decided to bring back my least favorite enemy from Gears 4/5, the juvies. I guess these ones are supposed to be wretches technically. Good grief I'm sick of those kind of mass-spam fodder enemies.
Gears of War: E-Day just looks.. blegh. The shooting and executions seem so weightless/unsatisfying. The lame sappiness they've been desperately pushing since Gears 4 just does not land at all. The game just doesn't have an ounce of the cool factor, the energy, the old games had.
@Wario64 This is such a wild, out-of-left-field thing I don't even know how to take it. Nice to see Ensign Ro again. Hopefully there's more to justify it being a Star Trek thing, since there isn't really much in the teaser.
something funny about Geoff going on about how gamers are hungry for fresh new original ideas then immediately showing yet another resident evil remake
The Paragon/Renegade system always sucked. Getting Good Points from picking Good dialogue options so I can unlock Super Good dialogue options that auto-resolve a given conflict. The system is just unnecessary and is just an arbitrary leftover from KOTOR.
The new Onimusha demo is OK, I guess, but I feel like it would be ten times better if the enemies were just way, way more aggressive. They also seem to have way too hard a time keeping up with you if you just... run. Hopefully it's just an early game thing. Hopefully.
I don't agree with games like Overwatch even being nominated because it's a game where the experience is almost entirely created through interactions with random players and is constantly being redesigned so it's incomparable to more handcrafted, singular games... but c'mon now.
Uncharted 4 losing GOTY to Overwatch in 2016 is still the biggest robbery in gaming history.
I get it, Overwatch was a great game too, but Uncharted 4 is miles ahead. It was so ahead of its time that it could release tomorrow and no one would say it's an outdated game.
