I spied this Black-crowned Night Heron through the wildflowers lining Central Park's Harlem Meer. I just love all the colors! ❤️💛💚 #Herons#CentralPark#birdcpp
At just 37 days old the Peregrine Falcon chick of 55 Water Street has nearly all of its juvenile plumage. It is flapping hard and hopping, and its first flight off the nest will be soon. Great job, parents, on raising your first chick in three years! 🎉🎉🎉
Finally, the Osprey chicks at Marine Park are big enough to be seen from the path. There were two at least in the first nest. The chicks in the second nest are probably still too small to be seen yet. Video by Gus Keri.

This Cerulean Warbler at Greenwood Cemetery today allowed only a couple of seconds of recording, so, we slowed it down for your pleasure. Video by Gus Keri.
The first really good day of birding in Central Park today, and I was thrilled to spot a Scarlet Tanager high in the magic tulip tree near the Great Hill. 🥰🥰🥰 #Tanager#CentralPark#birdcpp
4/28/2026 This Video was recorded on 4/28/25 . It documents Astoria’s first flight up to a roosting tree at the fence of the lawn in The Battery. Happy 1 year Anniversary in The Battery , Astoria. We Love You ! #birdcpp ❤️🦃❤️
Got my first good look of 2026 at a Black-crowned Night Heron which was perched on Duck Island in Central Park's Harlem Meer early this morning. Although plentiful compared to other herons, BCNHs are apparently in steep decline in NYC. ❤️🖤❤️ #Herons#CentralPark#birdcpp
A glorious morning in NYC provided the perfect setting to capture this Yellow-rumped Warbler flitting into the light! I love how you can see the sky through its feathers! 🥰🥰🥰 #Warblers#CentralPark#birdcpp
