💼 Major Bids on GeM

✅National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has awarded an order worth ₹621 crore for the supply of Caustic Soda and Lye through the GeM Portal.

GeM, in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI), conducted a Capacity Building Session on 25 June 2026 to strengthen its institutional capability in identifying and preventing cartelisation and bid-rigging in public procurement.

GeM, in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI), conducted a Capacity Building Session to strengthen its institutional capability in identifying and preventing cartelisation and bid-rigging in public procurement.

The session was delivered by Shri Nandan Kumar, Director (Economics), CCI, who shared insights on the key provisions of the Competition Act, anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominant position, the concept of Appreciable Adverse Effect on Competition (AAEC), remedies available under the Act, and the factors that facilitate bid-rigging.

The programme also focused on the effective application of CCI's Diagnostic Toolkit for Competitive Tenders for Public Procurement Officers.

The session reinforced GeM's commitment to upholding fair competition, strengthening procurement governance, and fostering a culture of vigilance, transparency, and compliance through continued collaboration with CCI.

Overburden (OB) is the top layer of soil and rock removed during coal extraction and is often stored in dumps and later used for backfilling.
