Today marks 50 yrs, since @OSCE basic document, the #HelsinkiFinalAct, was signed. 57 OSCE participating states are committed to the shared principles of the Helsinki Decalogue. As Russia is blatantly violating them, it is high time to reaffirm commitment and implementation.
Congratulations to the newly elected members of the #UNSC, especially to #Austria & #Portugal. I am convinced they will work to advance peace & security for the benefit of the global community. Germany will stay committed to peace & security worldwide & to a UN capable of action.
🔐 Cybersecurity was at the heart of discussions at the @OSCE over the past two days, as policy and technical experts from participating States met to exchange views, strengthen cooperation and enhance mechanisms aimed at preventing cyber-related crises.
🤝 As cyber threats continue to evolve, international #dialogue and practical cooperation remain essential for #security and stability.
📅 Looking ahead to the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference (17-18 June) and the Swiss Chairpersonship Conference on Cybersecurity in Zug (29-30 September).

At today’s joint FSC-PC meeting, Switzerland expressed deep concern over the recent aerial attacks in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, which have once again severely affected civilians and civilian infrastructure.
International humanitarian law must be fully respected at all times. We reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, cessation of hostilities, and a return to diplomacy.
A just and lasting peace must be grounded in international law, including the UN Charter, and the Helsinki Final Act.

Attacks on hospitals, schools & 🇩🇪 TV studios, calling on our embassy staff to leave #Kyiv: #Russia is doubling down on threats, terror & escalation. That is why today we summoned the Russian ambassador. 1/2
#Russia’s missile terror is shocking. The use of an Oreshnik missile marks another dangerous escalation. It strengthens my resolve to advance the proposals discussed at the #NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Only a strong #Ukraine 🇺🇦 can bring Putin to the table. @AussenMinDE
Death & destruction across #Ukraine – including strikes on hospitals and TV studios – show that Putin’s terror knows no limits. Thus, we must set limits. We want to implement the 🇩🇪 proposal I put forward at #NATO to step up support for 🇺🇦. Everyone is called upon. @AussenMinDE
In Kazakhstan, together with my 🇩🇪🇮🇹🇳🇱🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦 & the OSCE programme office we also

The @OSCE Group of Friends of Democratic Belarus marks the Day of Solidarity w Political Prisoners in Belarus & calls for immediate & unconditional release of ALL political prisoners. Recent releases is a welcome development, but many of those released have been forced into exile

ODIHR is deeply concerned by the escalation in Russian attacks across Ukraine in recent weeks, resulting in an alarming rise in civilian casualties.
Indiscriminate attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure constitute flagrant violations of #IHL.
💬 Dialogue is the key we can always turn.
It unlocks understanding.
It opens doors to cooperation.
It helps us move forward.
At the OSCE, dialogue is where everything begins.
