I just got a note from a parent that because their kid decided to go to another organization this year, their family was no longer welcome at the rink they skate at. No private lessons, open skate, nothing.

Sadly this is not the first time I’ve heard this story.

I had a player committed to us when I was coaching college that was threatened that if he played in a certain junior league (a much better league) that he and his brothers were not allowed in the arena they grew up in, worked out in, and skated in the summers in.

I’m sick to have heard this again.

You don’t want people to leave? Be better. Shocker that people want to leave organizations that treat people like that.

There are so many great people in this game, but the adult ego of a small group of people ruin it for others.

@natsturner @Gleng2k10 @PSAcard Very weird how the tickets were only enhanced with black ink in the spots where there is perforations or imperfections. That response is pure comedy. No offense but look at them @natsturner These should be taken back in by you guys and done in 5 days at no cost to the customer

Hockey Parents:

I know there's a lot of crazy information out there and you're looking to surround your son or your daughter with really, really good people that can help them on their development path.

One thing that will really help as you're choosing the people to be in your son or your daughter's corner…

When you’re talking to different coaches, advisors, mentors, etc…

If they're just telling you just what you want to hear, RUN.

You want to surround your kids with people that are honest, that are not afraid to have hard conversations, and that tell the truth about their development.

If somebody's just telling you what you want to hear so you sign up for their team, or you come to their program…that is a red flag. You want to have somebody that has honest, truthful conversations with you for the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Those are the people that high level hockey people trust. And those are the people that you should trust with your kids, too.
