Thrilled to have Alan Bissett working with classes today. A thought-provoking talk on themes of masculinity, relationships and consent, relating to Alan’s recent book “Lads”. Then S6 were treated to a workshop on writing endings. Loved the shoutout to Tony Soprano in this one!
Our worthy winners of Spud Stories!#WorldBookDay2024 All 220 S1 pupils had a great time creating their favourite book characters from potatoes! @GHSfalkirk@GHS_English @scottishbktrust

Our lovely ladies from the English department encouraging us all to never judge a book by it's cover. I absolutely love this idea for a Christmas surprise!
S2 took a trip to @surgeonshall in Edinburgh this morning to put our study of Nicola Morgan’s ‘Fleshmarket’ into context. Pupils were fascinated by the exhibits on show and thoroughly enjoyed their visit! 🩺
Book buying at Waterstones for our new lending library in the reception area @GHSfalkirk 📚
Thank you to Laura @FalkirkWtstones for supporting our school and recommending great books for both parents and children 😊
