The Open Metaverse is getting a huge boost from @mozillareality developers integrating a lot of the Social VR tools into a WebVR experience. Here's a list of projects they integrated https://t.co/y3oSjNVNJc
Draco is a library for compressing and decompressing 3D graphics. With Draco, applications can be significantly smaller without compromising visual fidelity.

Tried to run Sketchbox. App launched, directed me to look at a bit of text asking me to take off my gear and sign in at the keyboard and screen.
Are you kidding? I've taken the time and trouble to put all this crap on -- to be bounced out again?
They forget what VR asks.

Ugh the Stanford Ocean Acidification Experience is _everything_ VR should never be. Didactic, slow, and forced interactions. "Do this. Now do this. And I'll tell you this. Now do this."
Made it about 1 minute in. Those students would have gotten failing grades from me.
"On 30 November, a Washington Post article posed pointed questions about how the data gathered via TrueDepth + ARKit + CoreML would be used. Would it be shared or uploaded? Would apps be able to sneak a look at faces & read emotions?" me in @theRegister https://t.co/bUS8PH2Hir
