City threaten legal action over Enrique Riquelme’s Erling Haaland claims
City: “The stories which have emerged from Spain regarding the future of Erling Haaland are untrue.
“There is no chance of this happening and there is no contractual clause to enable it.
“We are considering legal action for the use of our player image in this context.”
Joint statement from Alfie Haaland and Rafaela Pimenta: “All very entertaining but not true. We wish all the best for both candidates in the Madrid elections.”

The MOST disrespectful club in the world, glad they’ve rotted the last two years. Long may it continue!
Try promoting your youth like Barcelona, incapable prats.

Arsenal defender William Saliba (25) could be out for several weeks after aggravating an existing injury in Saturday's UCL final. The FFF are concerned about the state of the France international, whose World Cup participation could be compromised. (FM)

Arsenal have set the record for the lowest possession percentage for a team playing in a Champions League final (since records began in 2003-04).
The previous lowest record was also Arsenal, set in the 2006 Champions League final, which they played 72 minutes with 10 men.
I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.
I wish the players, all the best this summer 🏴
A couple of years ago during a lean time on and off the field, Phil Foden answered a knock on his door to find Guardiola standing there unannounced. The men hugged and went inside where just about everything apart from football was discussed for an hour.
This instinctive but deep emotional intelligence extends to club staff, too. Guardiola sends notes of support to the women’s team staff while in his office hangs a list of birthdays of all first-team employees. The rule is they bring the cake for celebration but a fuss is then made. Birthday wishes are beamed on screens around the CFA and a bottle of champagne may be presented.
At least two wider City staff members have been given extended compassionate leave for family reasons, at Guardiola’s request, while he took it upon himself to persuade club bosses all staff should be paid in full during the Covid pandemic, as many Premier League rivals leant into the Government’s furlough scheme. On another occasion Guardiola went to war with Omar Berrada over employee bonuses.
Guardiola walked into one tense meeting and told Berrada he was paying employees £10,000 each from his own bonus as a Premier League title win pot. In no uncertain terms, Berrada was urged by his manager to sort out the rest – and quickly. Staff in that exchange gawped in amazement. Berrada, in his defence, had rightly been worried about tax implications of gifts.
