i deadass used to have like 40 pics in my camera roll for years and then it slowly started filling up as i’ve gotten the chance to experience life without this disorder taking up 99% of my mind. now i can look back and actually have positive memories of the past :)
randomly thinking about one of the most noticeable changes from getting treatment is the fact that i’m always taking pictures of everything now. cool storefronts and interesting plants and rain puddles and whatnot. my mind is free to appreciate all of these little things.
The conversation around transsexuals and our healthcare has just turned into arguing whether or not we’re “real” men/women instead of understanding the whole point of that treatment, which is to alleviate dysphoria.
The phrases “transitioning should not be gone into hastily and it is important to determine if something may have caused these feelings” and “it can be necessary for people who suffer from GD to transition in order to alleviate it” can coexist. Y’all are just crazy.
The “trans advocates” we see today aren’t interested in advocating for transsexuals. They push back against research, they claim they can identify their way into having a medical problem, and they don’t care that transsexuals are sick of their bullshit.
“Stop being a bootlicker!”
“Those people will just hate you anyway!”
Has it ever occurred to you that regardless of politics or media or whatever else, that maybe I’ve just never appreciated the medical condition that took years of my life away from me being turned into a fad?
The question should’ve never been “what is a man/woman?” and instead should be “what is a transsexual?” since the newfound ambiguity of the word “trans” is what led to this problem in the first place.
One of the biggest problems with mainstream/modern trans activism is how drastically the language and goal has shifted from “these people deserve to live a good normal life like everybody else” to “we need to make everything revolve around them.”
@legaltweetz@BadWritingTakes It’s not transphobic to acknowledge that the current “trans” movement has gone completely off the rails and doesn’t even exist for the benefit of transsexuals anymore.
You know what we need to bring back to the trans table? Gatekeeping. I’ve never believed in self-ID. I was just too afraid to say it. Transitioning is a life altering process. Throwing the door open wide and saying stupid shit like “you don’t need gender dysphoria to be transgender” is asking for a disaster.
While I’m at it, I also think that neo-pronouns are absolutely ridiculous.
Transsexuals just want to be understood, not glorified. I don’t want to see cartoon imagery of surgery scars or be sold mugs with pronouns on them; I want a normal life.
@TSTransgression @TheBasedTS Why doesn’t tattoo guy allow himself to be forcefully injected with estrogen for 10+ years and get his dick removed if he wants the FTM experience so bad? You know, start from scratch like the rest of us have to? I’m sure he’ll feel very “valid” and affirmed”!
