@TadamichiKurib@Nimitz13@CurtisLeMay13 We may not be on the same side of this affair, but let me first share my condolences, and then say that this is the same sentiment I hear daily from soldiers on the front lines. Perhaps we are all just human, after all. #2018CUAB
@Eleanor28713137 I can tell you first-hand, every mile is a struggle. The men are disheartened, but what choice do they have but to keep on fighting. Your messages are always a pleasant surprise, however. #2018CUAB
@JoeRotblat I feel the pain of leaving a loved one behind. I miss my wife so much while I am away reporting on the front lines. I can't imagine having to leave her in a war zone, though! #2018CUAB
@JoeRotblat That sounds awful. I would love to write a column about the working conditions you all face while working on this new weapon. It seems so removed from the front lines, but I can't imagine it's very fun, either. #2018CUAB
@IsorokuYamamoto@Groves_theGreat That's the thing. I'm not really big on war at all. I can see why we need to stop people like Hitler, and there's not much of an alternative to war there, but it's hard to remember your ideals when you're knee-deep in mud behind a pile of your buddies' corpses. #2018CUAB
@IsorokuYamamoto@Groves_theGreat I was with you until the dying part. It doesn't seem to me that there's much sense in dying for an abstract ideal, but I guess that's why you're a high-ranking Japanese admiral and I'm a war columnist. #2018CUAB
@PaulTibbets13 Good luck to you. As much as I would like to report on the common soldier's experience in the Pacific, I am grateful I have not had to face horrors of that kind yet. #2018CUAB
@ClausewitzGhost@HenryStim I like your attitude, Mr. Clausewitz. We must not do worse to ourselves or our enemies than our enemies would do to us. In fact, I dare say we should do better. #2018CUAB
