It's no wonder that so many young Americans have learned to hate their country. They were taught that we don't have a shared story and that America is divided. Our churches and social clubs have emptied out. Social media, which was advertised as a tool to bring us together, did the exact opposite. And they're soaking in hostile propaganda 8 hours a day from the phones in their pockets.
Our kids are going to search for belonging no matter what we do. And there are plenty of voices out there offering a finished identity: 'THIS is what you believe. THIS is who YOU are.' So, what are we offering instead?
Apparently, Gavin Newsom is now asking election officials to count ballots FASTER to prevent "election lies from taking hold." Wait... who gave Newsom the power to declare that QUESTIONING whether fraud is happening is an "election lie?"
Especially when his allies just passed a provision that tells election observers they CAN'T challenge signatures on the ballots they’re watching get counted.
Newsom didn’t criminalize your doubt. He did something quieter. He turned down the lights in the room where the counting happens and declared that it’s a conspiracy theory to ask why it got so dark.
No government should be the arbiter of truth, EVER. Especially when the question on the table is about the government itself. You cannot let the accused run the evidence room. But for Newsom, he believes the evidence room is his.
For a decade, the Left has used the word "Nazi" as an artillery shell against the Right. But suddenly, they're fully fine supporting a man WHO HAD A NAZI DEATH HEAD TATTOO?! They just confessed that their use of “Nazi” was never based in principle. It was always just a weapon. That’s the problem with the Democratic Party. They don’t have anything they actually believe in, except winning at any cost. That is why they propped up Graham Platner.
What's going on in Belfast - both the attempted beheading and the riots that followed - is the horrific product of progressive policies. They have weakened and erased their borders while punishing anybody who speaks out about how their communities have been affected. Now, that frustration has boiled over into burning cars and clashes in the streets.
That's the Bubba Effect, when the community distrusts the government so much that it takes measures into its own hands. And it's just as dangerous. But Britain will never solve this problem by blaming the "far-right" and downplaying the attempted beheading as just another knife attack. Doing that will only further light the fuse for civil war. And NOBODY should want that kind of chaos.
It's a good sign that we didn't see widespread riots after the Karmelo Anthony verdict. I think it's because the average American saw this story for what it is: a clear-cut case and a tragedy that shattered the families of 2 young men. Anthony deserves his sentence. But we can't just leave the story here.
Today, we all must ask: who wound him up? Who taught him that bringing a knife to a school event was reasonable, just in case? Who filled his mind with the idea that a grab or a push justified LETHAL force?
Our culture did. The entitlement of grievance did. The glorification of toughness without any wisdom or thinking did. The erosion of basic self-control and respect for other human beings did. This wasn’t inevitable, but it was foreseeable and cultivated. If America doesn't have the courage to recognize that, we will never truly heal.

At one of our Torch Insider meet-ups, I met a homeschooling mom, Carla Sumarriva. After talking with her, I thought she and her family would be perfect to test out Torch’s next big project.
This summer, we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of America by teaching American history like you've never heard it before: Schoolhouse Rock-style songs, immersive podcasts, a full study guide that is focused on learning lifelong lessons, not memorizing dates, and much more.
Today, I asked Carla to join me on the show and give an honest review of how it’s working for her family:
“[My daughter] was like, ‘I can't get this song out of my head!’
I love the fact that it teaches ‘the why.’ It teaches the mindset of the Founding Fathers, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
In a recent poll, 55% of Democrats said they would rather live in another country than the United States. And 74% believed that America has failed to live up to its founding ideals. But before Republicans respond with, “good riddance! I'll buy your ticket,” I don't think that's the solution here.
To an extent, I can agree that America has failed to live up to the promises our founding documents make. Martin Luther King Jr. also agreed. But instead of telling black Americans to just abandon those documents (like some wanted him to), he called them a promissory note.
He said the men who built this nation signed a promise, even if they didn’t live up to it, that EVERY SINGLE American would be guaranteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
That’s the difference compared to the squawking leftists of today. Today, it’s the documents and the foundation that are the issue. MLK could have said the same thing, but he didn’t. He refused to renounce the founding. Instead, he demanded that Washington cash the check and fulfill the promise.
.@SteveHiltonx may have just given us the Rosetta Stone to decipher the corruption in California’s election laws. A lot of the fraud is LEGAL. It’s a rigged system.
Hilton highlighted that anyone can write in and BACKDATE their mail-in ballots. The state will accept ANY forms that have the election date on it, regardless of when it was turned in.
Paired with the fact that California knows exactly how many votes they need to turn the tide, this is a perfect storm for “legal” fraud.
Here's an idea: California should treat its elections as securely as the Academy Awards. Get PricewaterhouseCoopers on the phone, ask them to do the counting, and only release the results when it’s final.
The Democratic Party is revealing its true, ugly nature through its support of Graham Platner. This party built its entire moral identity on fairness, ending racism, and “believe all women.” But when power is on the line, they go out of their way to excuse, defend, and praise a man who is accused of frightening women and who downplayed sexual assault and LIED about the Nazi tattoo on his chest.
Everything they claim to hate is just fine now because the end justifies the means. That should frighten EVERY Democratic voter.
We need more Democrats like the former political director of Platner’s campaign, Genevieve McDonald. When she found out who Platner really was, she quit his campaign. But the Democratic Party, the "defenders" of women and minorities, OFFERED HER $15,000 TO KEEP QUIET about Platner.
She turned down the money and wrote an op-ed exposing the truth. In it is arguably the most honest sentence in American politics this year: "We have learned to excuse what we should condemn."
Austin Metcalf deserves justice and Karmelo Anthony deserves a fair, honest trial. He's a man, not a symbol. Race and politics should have nothing to do with this.
Wait, Tim Walz and Minnesota AG Keith Ellison THREATENED and MONITORED fraud whistleblowers?! But they said they didn't know anything about the fraud! Well now, a House Oversight Committee report has just exposed that they both KNEW about and IGNORED the fraud as far back as spring 2019.
They had the authority to investigate, suspend payments, shut it down, and protect the taxpayer. But instead, according to the report, they chose to protect themselves by guarding the fraud machine.
And if that wasn't bad enough, they used mob-like tactics to RETALIATE against whistleblowers exposing the fraud. They hired private investigators to monitor whistleblowers. The investigators took pictures of their cars and homes, monitored their phones and computers, and even asked where the whistleblowers’ kids went to school. And they took the fraud hotlines, which were supposed to be anonymous, and exposed who was calling so they knew who to monitor.
If this is proven in a court of law, that should be a crime against the Republic. I hope the whole book gets thrown at Walz, Ellison, and any other official involved. Life in prison. No one is above the law.
“California is a fraudsters' paradise, make no mistake about that.”
@USAttyEssayli breaks down how California has eliminated almost ALL of its fraud-prevention measures:
“Almost ANYBODY can register to vote in the state of California. You don’t have to have a social security number and you don’t need a driver's license number. [You can vote with] a gym membership, a prescription label, your employer ID card, and my favorite, a health insurance card, which California gives out health insurance to illegal aliens.
It used to be against the law to handle anybody’s ballet other than your own or your immediate family member. That changed in 2018 in California. Anybody can handle anybody’s ballots... California has removed the paper trail, they’ve removed the chain of custody, they've removed any meaningful way for us to basically have a forensic audit of where a ballot came from.”
Last night, I got a call from President Trump. During the call, I asked about how the Pentagon had reclassified my faith. He said he would look into it. This morning, he told me it had been fixed. Thank you, President Trump.
We can disagree on whether "Mormons are Christian." That's not what disturbed me about this. I don't want the GOVERNMENT classifying religions. That creates a dangerous tool that shouldn't be in the hands of ANY government.
I don't believe that was Hegseth's goal. But what happens if the power shifts and the "Jesus was nonbinary" camp takes over? Will they recategorize conservative Christians? The Biden administration already tried to link Catholicism to domestic terror.
If that possibility troubles you, then you understand my problem with this whole thing. I don't want the government to declare me a Christian. I want them to stay out of it.
