Manipur: Kuki inhabited areas today witnessed a “Rally for Justice ”,spearheaded by Kuki Inpi.
Protesters condemned the killing of innocent Kuki civilians by NSCN-IM & ZUF-K militants, and demanded the cessation of violence on Kuki community, calling for urgent security measures.
Thousands of people participated in a statewide rally organised by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) on June 19, with the main gathering held at Kangpokpi district headquarters. The rally concluded with the submission of a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi.
The procession began at Nute Kailhang and moved along National Highway-2 before reaching the Deputy Commissioner's Office. The event was organised by the Committee on Tribal Unity, Sadar Hills, in support of KIM's call for a "Rally for Justice."
In the memorandum, KIM expressed concern over the security situation in parts of Manipur and sought intervention from the Central Government regarding incidents affecting Kuki-Zo communities. The organisation alleged that several Kuki-Zo civilians had lost their lives in recent months and that a number of villages had been damaged in separate incidents.
The memorandum also raised concerns over relations between Kuki-Zo and Naga communities and called for measures to restore confidence and ensure the safety of civilians in affected areas.

Youth must not be used in conflict. The NSCN-IM and NSCN-EF power struggle has only increased insecurity. The government and #SecurityAgencies must act strictly and ensure the rule of law. #Manipur needs peace and stability, not violence. #NSCNIM#NSCNEF#Peace#RuleOfLaw
A VV who protected our village from state-sponsored ethnic genocide was killed by the so-called Cobra battalion, which also used firearms& bombed innocent villagers& take the corpse for their fictitious meeting!
What a disgrace? @ShahAmit you endanger innocent civilians Villagers
Staged encounter by security forces raises serious concerns, with the victim allegedly stripped & dressed in different clothing to falsely portray him as a militant. The Kuki community will not tolerate such abuse of authority, manipulation of evidence, and gross misuse of power.
At least two members of the Kuki community have been killed in a fresh attack in India’s Manipur state, where ethnic violence, kidnappings and retaliatory clashes continue to fuel instability and displacement.
