At midnight, he was at the dentist.
At 4 AM, he sat at his piano at Graceland and sang "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" for his inner circle. It ended up being the last song he ever performed.
At 6 AM, he was playing racquetball at Graceland.
He was literally scheduled to fly to Portland, Maine, that exact evening to kick off a brand new multi-city tour. The stadium was already sold out.
