FIFA expects to make $11B in total revenue for the 2026 World Cup. They expect $3B from tickets & hospitality. Broadcasting rights, sponsorship revenue, etc. represent $8B (which is more than the '22WC total revenue). So, why is FIFA price gouging on tickets?

@esteen11 @greenslime300 @JoserNunez91 And 3. U.S. players signed to MLS have turned down MLS approved transfers. Since the story is about a transfer to Borussia Dortmund, there is a very well known U.S. player (MLS & USMNT) who rejected a MLS approved transfer to Dortmund.

2. The only reason these players are called into national camps (about 2-3 weeks) is because of the investment the clubs make in the players development.

Pro clubs are investing their resources into developing players who they hope will represent the club at the senior level, & also transfer some to earn money.

@OptimisticRapid @11Yanks Yes, no professional team/club invests millions of dollars to develop players for the national team. They're developed for the club (going to represent their senior team & transferring some to make money for the club), BUT the national teams benefit from this development program.

@MLSMoves Grandfather was a college player & coach. His father & mother were Div. 1 players, & his father was a A-League player & is a coach. His uncle was a Div. 1 player & was a coach. His cousin was a Div. 1 player, played in MLS for 14 years, & represented the U.S. (U20 - USMNT).

@MLSMoves Paul just using Cavan to gain some relevance. Cavan has a good & knowledgeable support system - his academy/club & family (grandfather, parents, cousin & brothers) & there have never been any reports of Cavan struggling mentally/psychologically or socially, & he's playing well.

@SkywayWilly @LainEsper @ProspectsUsmnt No Euro clubs have ever made an offer for Brian Gutierrez. He got interest, like a lot of young, promising MLS players, but only North American clubs, made an offer for him. No Euro clubs submitted an offer for him.

@LainEsper @ProspectsUsmnt Players in MLS, especially the young promising players, get interest from Euro clubs all the time, BUT only a few get actual offers. Interest just means they like what they've seen & will seriously scout you. If no offers follow, it means that they don't think you're good enough.

@dissatisfied702 @ProspectsUsmnt @noting014 He's an Attacking Midfielder, which means he plays in an advanced position in the midfield & his primary job is to "drive" the offence/attack & provide assists to the forwards. Pedri's primary position is a Central Midfielder & Rodri's primary position is a Defensive Midfielder.
