There are some critical data considerations that you must take into account to make your LLM application production-ready 📣
Using naive RAG techniques (naive text chunking, simple top-k retrieval -> LLM) is fine for hackathons, but will lead to lots of failure cases. ⛔️
By thinking carefully about your data in the following manner, you can improve your LLM app performance and make it ready for production workloads 💡:
✅ Tag chunks with proper metadata / relationships (manually or automatically)
✅ Define the right set of indexes over your data (don’t just shove everything into a single vector db collection)
✅ Make sure changes in source data are periodically propagated to production indices ♻️
✅ Pick a domain-specific text parser (e.g. parse Supreme Court decisions)
I’ve given this talk a few times but thought it would be good to make the slides available to everyone! 🧑🏫
