On Memorial Day, I hope that we can all pause and remember those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us free. For today’s post, I wanted to share a speech that I gave on Memorial Day 2023, long before I began my current congressional run, as it captures what Memorial Day means to me and I believe that it remains relevant regarding our current moment. I hope that you enjoy listening.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to tour Intershell Seafood in Gloucester. Intershell is a great example of the hardworking local businesses that keep the Gloucester working waterfront strong and help drive the economy of the Massachusetts Sixth Congressional District (MA-6). From “their docks to your door,” Intershell showcases the best of our local seafood industry. In Congress, I will be a strong advocate for the small businesses across the MA-6 that create jobs, strengthen our local communities, and preserve the character of the North Shore and Merrimack Valley. Many thanks to Monte Rome and the entire Intershell team for the warm welcome and outstanding tour.

US Congress: Micah Q. Jones
State Senate: Ted Semesnyei
State Representative: Chris Shepley
To the 12,656 people who signed my nomination papers and helped officially put us on the ballot, thank you. This campaign has always been powered by real people who believe Massachusetts deserves independent leadership and true representation.
Now we take the next step. To the million-plus voters I hope will check Deaton on the ballot this November, I promise to work tirelessly every single day to earn your trust and make you feel represented again.
We have momentum, excitement, and energy behind this movement. This is our November to win. Let’s build the biggest political upset Massachusetts has been deserving in nearly 80 years.
But we need everyone involved. Keep getting the word out. Talk to your neighbors, friends, and family. Donate, volunteer, and hit the streets with us. That’s how we win.
It was great attending Warrior Weekend 2026 in Beverly. The two-day event is dedicated to supporting and honoring military service members, veterans, and first responders, and to thank them for keeping our country safe.
Mass. is 39th out of 50th in local aid returning back to cities & towns. Taxpayers deserve a State Treasurer who will advocate for money to be returned to municipalities & taxpayers for essential services. I will be that voice! #mapoli#dionne4treasurer#taxpayerstreasurer
It was great attending the 54th annual sheep shearing festival in North Andover this weekend, as well as connecting with potential voters, small business owners and first responders. This week, my campaign will be highlighting some of the small businesses within the Massachusetts Sixth Congressional District, as well as other festivals and events that are starting to kickoff the summer here in the District.
The @FightBackMA Civil Rights coalition collected more than 100,000 signatures, with 💯 volunteer labor, to roll back Healey’s gun grab bill. It’s the only ballot question slated for November that’s truly a grass roots effort.
Gov. Maura Healey and Sen. Ed Markey continue to see their approval ratings dip as the latest MassINC Polling Group survey finds that the two Democrats are becoming increasingly unpopular. https://t.co/V1rn4ZCTx4
From learning from fishermen in Gloucester, to meeting with potential voters in Burlington attending their town meeting, to connecting with folks across the political spectrum at a fundraiser for my campaign in Marblehead, to finishing the week back in Gloucester with a tour of the Intershell seafood company, it was a busy week around the district! Thank you all for your support and interest in my campaign. If you, your business, or your organization would be interested in meeting with me, please reach out to [email protected]. Have a great weekend!
