We’re Republicans because our values led us here, not because the @GOP tells us what to believe. Faith, Family, Small Government, Accountability & Integrity matter more than a party jersey. @GOP4Jolly is @TheFLGOP members putting principle over power. We support @DavidJollyFL.
Keep doing what it takes @DavidJollyFL!
Building a coalition of Floridians for Floridians is the secret to your success. Meeting people where they are and determining to leave them better than you found them.
I’m proud to be a part of the @GOP4Jolly voters that have picked our principles over our party!
When I vote for a Democrat, @DavidJollyFL, for the first time in my 41 years of life this November, it will not be because my values have changed, but because my party has abandoned our values for the sycophancy of a transactional leader who has none.
I made a personal commitment to vote for @MBeltranFL when he first considered this #FL16 race, and I want to keep my word, but I’m a few more red hats, Trump mailers, and fill-ups away from taking a mulligan and voting for @KathyCastorFL.
Why? Because Mike, for whatever reason, has made @realDonaldTrump his identity in this race instead of the principled conservative independence that set him apart in Tallahassee.
.@RealFLGunLobby, you know better than this. In defense of the @BryanAvilaFL pick, you literally just acknowledged last week that different constitutional officers have different powers. Now you’re pretending @DavidJollyFL can walk into Tallahassee and unilaterally rewrite Florida gun law.
Most of us are Second Amendment conservatives. We disagree with Jolly on guns. Full stop. But we also understand how Florida government works.
@RonDeSantis himself supports repealing portions of the Parkland law. The House @FLGOPMajority has tried repeatedly. And it still hasn’t happened because the @FLSenateGOP wouldn’t pass it. The governor does not get a magic legislative pen.
So tell gun owners the whole truth: Jolly’s positions are more restrictive. But unless the Florida Legislature passes those restrictions, Jolly cannot enact them by himself.
And if your argument is that electing @ByronDonalds suddenly guarantees repeal, explain why Republicans controlling the Governor’s Mansion and Legislature haven’t already delivered it.
That’s the difference between campaigning on fear and actually understanding where governmental power resides.
If a Republican governor plus a Republican House couldn’t force the Republican Senate to repeal Parkland, explain exactly how David Jolly is going to force that same Legislature to pass an assault-weapons ban.
THIS IS AWKWARD
Here’s @AGJamesUthmeier sitting next to Byron talking about how the State of Florida is has launched a criminal investigation and a civil lawsuit into Open AI… whose founder Greg Brockman’s SuperPac is bankrolling Byron with a cool 5 MILLION BUCKS
As Republicans, including many of us who proudly call ourselves conservatives, we ought to understand that some things matter more than the partisan divide.
Right and wrong. Good and evil. Truth and dishonesty. Love and hate.
Our principles ought to be strong enough to admit something pretty simple: the right isn’t always right, and the left isn’t always wrong.
A political party should be a reflection of our principles. It should never become a replacement for them.
And for more than a decade, we’ve watched something happen inside our own party that too many Republicans are afraid to acknowledge. We’ve watched character become negotiable, morality become conditional, truth become whatever helps our side, and loyalty to principle get replaced by loyalty to personalities—all in pursuit of power, prestige and winning the next election.
That’s not conservatism.
There was a time when conservatives talked about character because we believed character mattered even when it cost us something. We believed limited government meant limiting our own government’s power too. We believed personal responsibility applied to our own leaders. We believed morality didn’t change depending on which jersey somebody was wearing.
Those principles didn’t become wrong just because following them got politically inconvenient.
@DavidJollyFL’s message here resonates with us not because we’ve suddenly become Democrats or abandoned conservative principles.
It’s because we haven’t.
We can disagree about taxes, abortion, guns, spending and a hundred other things and still recognize that our neighbors aren’t our enemies.
Politics should be about making life better for the people were asking to govern, not teaching them whom they’re supposed to hate.
Party is important. Principle is more important. Character is more important still.
And sometimes standing by your principles means having enough courage to tell your own side:
You’re wrong.

For the next 65 days, they’re going to tell us to hate each other.
But hate won’t lower your insurance bill. Division won’t improve your child’s school. Attacking your neighbors won’t make health care more affordable.
Floridians are asking for something better.
Leadership focused on housing, health care, and education. A state where the economy works for everyone, our rights are protected, and we remember that we have far more in common than our politics would have us believe.
The attacks will come fast and hard. We’re going to stay focused on you.
I believe we are capable of rising above the division. I believe in the goodness of the people of this state.
For the next 65 days, let’s Believe in Better.
Got the whips branded with @GOP4Jolly today.
We’ve voted Republican our entire adult lives. We didn’t leave our principles, the party left them at the altar for a personality cult.
We don’t owe anybody our vote because they slapped an R beside their name.
Earn it.
Until then, We’ll be the Republican bumper stickers in the parking lot that pisses some off while hopefully inspiring others to give @DavidJollyFL a chance. 🇺🇸
Thanks for confirming what we already knew: @ByronDonalds and @realDonaldTrump aren’t principled, they’re transactional.
Byron didn’t change his mind about Trump. Trump changed what Byron could get from him.
Byron Donalds may not have principles, but he sure does have a price tag.
We find the entire Hope Florida grand-jury process troubling. We find @GovRonDeSantis credible and give him, @CaseyDeSantis , @JamesUthmeierFL , @AshleyMoodyFL and their staffs the benefit of the doubt.
But the benefit of the doubt is not an exemption from scrutiny. Serious questions and any appearance of impropriety demand honest answers.
The investigation should be completely independent of every party, campaign and office involved. The evidence should be presented to the Florida Legislature in open hearings, with every accused person able to challenge it in real time. Lawmakers should deliberate publicly and issue a transparent report.
If credible evidence of criminal conduct emerges, an independent special state attorney should be randomly selected through a process administered by the Chief Justice and present it to a grand jury whose sole job is deciding whether to indict.
Whoever leaked this confidential, unfinished report should face the same independent investigation and, if warranted, the same full weight of the law.
@DavidJollyFL has been more skeptical of the officials involved and more receptive to their critics, but he has not reached a final conclusion—and he is not asking Floridians to reach one either. He has called for an investigation because, like us, he wants answers.
That is precisely what has drawn us to support him for governor: the principle that accountability and integrity must govern without fear or favor.
The fox should never guard the henhouse. Roll back the curtains. Turn on the lights. Follow the evidence wherever it leads.
We should demand that standard equally from our political friends, our political opponents and ourselves.

Where you smell corruption, you pursue it.
The Hope Florida grand jury identified serious unanswered questions and a failure to cooperate that kept investigators from getting the full truth.
Floridians deserve answers. As Governor, I will reopen the investigation, pursue the facts, and hold anyone who broke the law accountable.
No one in Tallahassee should be above the law.
Yes, he said these things.
When @ByronDonalds is confronted with his own past statements and policy positions, he demands that context matters and complains that he’s being misrepresented.
Yet he strips @DavidJollyFL’s words of context, cherry-picks a few phrases, and sells the distortion as truth.
Just like his “law and order”.
Beside @PolkCoSheriff, he’s 💪 talk and photo ops. Beside Cory Mills and Larry Wilcoxson, he’s 🦗.
Byron wants context for himself, distortions for his opponents, and accountability only for people outside his circle.
Context for me, lies for thee.
No wonder Byron’s favorite place to give a speech is out of both sides of his mouth.

@Broseph_Planz@CookPolitical@davidjollyfl You: 719 followers in nearly 14 years — about 1 every 7 days.
Us: 70 followers in 6 days — nearly 12 a day.
And six days in, you already found us.
You’re not proving we’re irrelevant, @Broseph_Planz .
You’re proving we’re reaching you. 😉
There it is.
@CookPolitical just moved the Florida governor’s race from SOLID REPUBLICAN to LIKELY REPUBLICAN.
And pay attention to why: @DavidJollyFL’s winning independents and disaffected Republicans is part of what makes this race increasingly competitive.
We’ve been saying it: Republicans crossing over for Jolly aren’t some imaginary social-media phenomenon. We’re the constituency changing the math.
@ByronDonalds still has the money advantage. He’s still the favorite. But that may be the high-water mark.
Because the more Floridians learn about who Byron Donalds actually is—and who he is not—the more David Jolly gets a serious look.
And something interesting happens when people stop staring at the R and D and start looking at the men.
@DavidJollyFL starts changing hearts and minds.
Not because conservatives suddenly became liberals. Not because Republicans suddenly embraced the Democratic Party. But because people are exhausted by performative politics, grievance, obedience, and politicians auditioning for their own team.
We want authenticity and principled leadership—someone with enough backbone to tell his own team no, enough independence to put principle ahead of party, and enough humility to admit when he was wrong.
That shouldn’t be extraordinary.
But look at our politics today. It damn near is.
@ByronWarRoom has the money.
@DavidJollyFL has something money can’t manufacture: authenticity.
And every time another Floridian gives him that second look, Byron’s biggest advantage gets a little smaller.
Solid R → Likely R.
Keep looking.
The more people see, the more this race moves.
