Fire Station 11 is now officially open!🚒🏠
We are proud to announce the official opening of our new fire station. Station 11, located at 11005 Davis Drive, marks a major milestone in our mission of protecting lives and property across our growing community.
GPFD firefighters named the 2025 Paramedics of the Year by Methodist Mansfield Medical Center!
Lieutenant Dudley, Firefighter/Paramedic Nichols, and Firefighter/Paramedic Burch were recognized for their exceptional care of a trauma patient during a call in January of this year.
The station proudly features the school’s mascot in its logo. Thank you to the residents of Grand Prairie and City leadership who support our firefighters and allow for new and improved stations like this to be possible.
Station 6 has officially reopened and is now in service! 🚒 Crews moved into the new station earlier this week and are proud to serve their district from their new home.
Since 1974, Station 6 has been located in the neighborhood just north of South Grand Prairie High School.

This morning, Engine 6 stopped by Lorenzo De Zavala Environmental Science Academy for World Read Aloud Day! After reading, the firefighters answered the students' questions about firefighting and fire safety.

The team provides firefighters with a safe, effective, and efficient way to egress off the fireline in the event of injury or illness that may occur during firefighting operations.
Last week, GPFD’s Wildland Team showcased our Rapid Extrication Module (REM) at the Texas EMS Conference. The REM is part of the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, which is a pre-staged rescue team that is assigned to a wildland fire.

A message from Chief Fite on the importance of the Blocker Program and a recent incident where a driver struck the tail of Scorpion 3 on Highway I-30. Thankfully, the Scorpion tail absorbed the impact protecting the crew and the driver of the vehicle.

At approximately 7:56 a.m., GPFD responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of College St. On arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and fire, initiating a fast attack. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
