NEW – Interview: Why global support for climate action is ‘systematically underestimated’ | @DrSimEvans w/ comment from Prof Peter Andre @TeodoraBoneva1@FelixChopra@Armin_Falk

Fear alone is not enough to motivate climate action; if people are afraid but don't know what to do, they will do nothing. That's why it's essential to communicate both the risks of inaction (the bad news) + the potential of action (the good news) in equal proportions.
Parts of Pakistan are over
122 ℉/ 50 ℃ right now. Let me break it down;
Our bodies maintain an average 97-99.5 ℉ temperature in heat and cold. When the outside environment gets so hot that your body can not sweat to maintain equilibrium it starts going into shock
We invite researchers & practitioners to critically examine their own biases & knowledge systems, actively explore other lenses, find new ways of knowing, and create novel outcomes. Willing curiosity can bridge divides & support valuable contributions in our complex world.
Through this work, we recognised key success factors for transdisciplinarity & transformative collaboration, including shared purpose, respect and humility, & perseverance
Wicked problems, such as climate change and the biodiversity crisis, require genuinely transdisciplinary approaches to achieve effective collaboration and new solutions. Our new paper explores collaborative autoethnography as a useful tool: https://t.co/gTGpvgJbPE
The big problems of the world need a transdisciplinary response. But we know it’s hard. We tried a new method and learned a lot about building bridges across disciplinary divides: https://t.co/clK3Wc6tRT @melhaeffner @Prof_Margaret@WetlandsJess@GPlatell
I realise now how profound the transformation has been, including to my career. Now I connect the dots every day in my role as a climate change risk and opportunities expert at @energetics_au.
Our learnings on working beyond our disciplines. A transformative journey over five years, alongside wise, generous women. Thank you @melhaeffner @fernhames@Prof_Margaret@WetlandsJess@drsoilsam https://t.co/6xy4Cf6Tp6
For me, the journey started as a #phdstudent taking on the first iteration of @HomewardBound16. I was excited to have joined the group interested in transdisciplinary science because I have a keen interest in joining the dots.
When I discovered knowledge brokering a few years ago I knew I'd found my calling.
Discussions with this 👇 wonderful crew (including three generations of #SuperstarsOfSTEM) led us to create the "Connecting the dots" symposium which we're really excited to run next year!!
