@rmiames@swd2 Algae aside, the contract was absolutely and objectively a no-bid contract that bypassed the normal federal procurement process. The company was selected by Trump personally and paid out of emergency funds not intended for this purpose.
@Gr8white13@JBrownDoesIt@TheJFreakinC@ItisaboutHIM "criminals run the streets" -- riding a bike dude. Riding. A. Bike. No sidewalks, so he's riding in the road. If you claim to love freedom, there's no way you can be opposed to a man riding a bike in the place he lives. If you support this, you have no idea what freedom is.
@godzillionaires@SpencerHakimian Intentional strategy to muddy the water for everyone actually implicated. Even if the files are released now in full the public discourse is fragmented and distracted by this kind of obvious nonsense.
@godzillionaires@SpencerHakimian This is the case for a lot of what actually got released. The kook calls, the wild claims, the goofy shit that is easily dismissed. It's the millions of unreleased documents that contain guilt, and those are being protected by people of all political stripes inside our system.
@piq9117@unicorn__sauce@PinkNews Rittenhouse smoked people in a very similar scenario. To me if you put yourself in a dumb/chaotic situation intentionally while carrying a firearm it should somewhat or totally cancel claims of self-defense.
Killing or not killing doesn't logically create justification.
@gotrice2024 Camping gear is not designed around the very unlikely scenario that you need to flee the area. If you are in an actual situation that needs to be fled, like a volcano erupting or something, just drive away. It might break your tent but you are running for you life, who cares?
@gotrice2024 100% weird take. What backwoods camping shelter is secure? Do you carry a cabin in your backpack? A stack of plywood?
If you have a vehicle and are dealing with a bear, why would you need to flee? Get in the car, close the door, you're done.
@DevLeaderCa I think deep memorization of obscure tools might even be detrimental. 95% of problems I want to solve with software that I've ever seen can and should be solved using the basics of whatever language is available. No need to over-complicated things.
@DevLeaderCa I remember things that I use often. Otherwise, I am operating by an understanding of the kinds of things languages can do. When I run into a problem not covered by the basics, I look up docs to see what tools a given language has to solve a particular problem.
@niceblackdude I can't say I agree with your take. Trump himself is unaccountable. Waste, fraud, and contracts with zero oversight have exploded under Trump. Nothing Trump has done has restored any faith at all, and his family has enriched themselves dramatically in the process. Same old.
@Linche92151837@LongTimeHistory I know you find freedom uncomfortable and have fascistic instincts to use the armed government agents to punish people you do not like, but you're just wrong here. Follow up in 2 years and learn about the civil settlement this women gets paid.
@Linche92151837@LongTimeHistory 4th amendment protection is strongest in the home. The gov can justify exigent circumstances in pretty narrow cases, otherwise a warrant is required to enter someone's home or curtilage for the purpose of arrest or detainment. The law does not presume in favor of the government.
@CitJournFalard@PoliceThePolic1 That's the myth, isn't it, that the "good cops" are supposed to bring balance the force? Like Anakin, I guess. The reality is that no one chose this line of work in the modern era without knowing what they were getting in to. It's hard to see how a good man would be interested.
@KosherChutzpah@afc_bro Sith absolutes. I have opposed all foreign aid for my entire adult life and I know plenty of others who have as well. Until our own problems are resolved and we operate within our budget and in a way that isn't a burden to our own people, it's foolish to give beyond our means.
@ChrisClarke1978@SmokinBat@SilentlySirs The response "islam is bad" when critique of the Israeli government's actions are offered is whataboutism. Don't worry about A, worry about B. False dichotomy. Both can be bad simultaneously.
@ChrisClarke1978@KingGobbyZaraki@Noneya145869@SilentlySirs It's a brand new account with a pretty particular behavior and really always-online posting patterns, jumping in to controversial topics with charged language, and between that reposts dozens and dozens of narrow-bandwidth posts all day every day. If it quacks like a duck....
@niceblackdude The refusal is a use of the freedom that it is supposed to represent. It isn't compulsory and should not be in the land of the FREE. I think some people fear real freedom.
@LilRdVet2@its_Lexieroy It's a bot that posts the things the intelligence agency and/or marketing firm is being paid to say. It doesn't know the difference between anything.
